In this weekly newsletter, I share opportunities for photographers for exhibitions, publications, fellowships, grants, residencies, jobs, and more. My goal is to make the photography world more accessible, especially to emerging artists. While I include both free opportunities and calls for entry with submission fees, I only share opportunities that favor artists.

This week’s Open Call List contains 37 calls for entry, 20 of which offer free submission. This week’s list has a particularly large amount of exhibition opportunities, with calls for solo exhibitions at galleries and festivals, as well as many calls for group exhibition across the U.S. and Europe (plus, online exhibitions). The list includes three fully-funded residencies. It also contains six calls for recently published photobooks or photobook projects seeking publication, as well as a large variety of calls for publications in magazines and online platforms. Finally, the list contains several opportunities for grants, fellowships, prizes, and other significant monetary support.

The Jobs section contains new jobs and internships in the photo arts industry. This week’s list includes multiple new paid internships, new hybrid and remote roles, as well as jobs at galleries, museums, non-profits, and commercial businesses related to photography.

• Fotogalerie Wien’s Call for Exhibition Proposals | Deadline: 7/31, Fee: FREE, Submission: Portfolio, bio, CV, Selection Includes: Inclusion in the Fotogalerie Wien exhibition programming for 2027, Location: Vienna, Austria.

• MUUS Collections’ Research Fellowship | Deadline: 7/31, Fee: FREE, Submission: Cover letter, CV, proposal for exhibition or publication, two references, Fellowship Includes: a $20,000 grant and time in MUUS Collection’s archives to develop an exhibition or publication concept based on works within the collections.

• Flare Journal’s “Connection X Isolation” (Print Publication) | Deadline: 7/31, Fee: $5-10 suggested donation, Submissions: Up to three individual images or a series of up to 10 images, Selection Includes: Publication in Flare’s second print issue. Restriction: This call is open to photographic work that addresses the climate crisis.
