Al Sharpton publicly raised questions about Warren Hudson, Jax Pitalo, and Morgan Seymour in connection with Nolan Wells’ death. But according to a new pre-suit demand letter, the facts tell a very different story. Their attorneys say the three young men never possessed, accessed, erased, or tampered with Nolan’s phone, and never lied about the phone or keys. The letter also says Nolan voluntarily stayed behind on Horn Island when the larger group left, and that Warren later contacted Nolan’s mother, the Coast Guard, and law enforcement that same night.

The letter further says roughly 30 people traveled together in three boats and thousands of people were on Horn Island that day. The attorneys argue Sharpton’s statements created the impression these young men may have hidden evidence or committed serious crimes, and they are now demanding an apology, retraction, deletion of the disputed statements, and preservation of evidence for litigation.

One detail stands out: the letter says Warren, Jax, and Morgan voluntarily provided their own phones to authorities, while alleging Nolan’s phone had not yet been provided for forensic examination. Sharpton said he wanted them to sue him. He may be about to get exactly what he asked for.
