why are those songs so important?
why are those minutes spent listening so comforting?
how can a simple song be so understanding?

we can have songs we like listening to and songs we need to listen to.

ever got attached to a person? i get attached to songs, not letting them go and revisiting them over and over again.

because they understand me. they don’t judge me.
they start playing and just whisper, “i get you”.

has music ever solved my problems? probably not.
has it ever made me feel like i belong? yes, a thousand fucking times.

music gives us a space to breathe and sit with feelings that, on our own, would be too much to carry.
when the day feels too long, exhaustion suffocates us and our depressed minds tell us we aren’t enough… that’s when music sits next to us.

the lyrics, we know them by heart.
we sing them like a mantra to our lives.

i spend more time with music than with people.
because it understands me better.
because it lets me be myself.

it held me through breakups, depressed days and the loss of people around me.

it never said: stop crying. be an adult. be this or that.

it just played, comforting me when my heart couldn’t see a point in living anymore.

maybe thats why music means so much to me.
because it did what others couldn’t.

it loved me, supported me and comforted me.
it never demanded.
it never judged.

music was just there when i needed it.
