Today is our gathering! The link and workbook are below. Be sure to come with a notebook or journal to write in. See you at noon EST! 🌾

August is here, and with it the gold of the grain — the First Harvest, Lughnasadh, and the season’s first lean toward the dark months.

This is the month the grain is cut. The corn king lies in the field so there’s bread on the table come winter. Lugh of the Long Hand held funeral games for his foster mother, Tailtiu, who cleared the plains of Ireland for planting and died of the work. Demeter walked the gold fields looking for a daughter who wasn’t there. John Barleycorn was cut at the knee, beaten, and buried, so that bread and beer might rise.

August is full of abundance and gathering in, and the first visible signs that the wheel is turning. In this gathering we will spend an hour learning of the myths, the folklore and the beliefs that are tied to the season. We will close by setting our intentions for the month ahead.

Together, we will:

  • Explore the seasonal myths and rituals our ancestors leaned into, and share a few of our own.

  • Sit with the First Harvest, called Lughnasadh, and what this turn of the wheel means to us.

  • Take away a handful of simple seasonal practices to weave into the days ahead.

  • Close in group intention setting — naming what we hope to gather and what we’re giving thanks for, before the wheel turns toward fall.

This gathering is for paid subscribers. We will meet on Zoom for 60 minutes — the link will arrive in your inbox via Substack on the morning of the gathering, and a recording will be shared with subscribers afterward in case you cannot be with us live.

If you’d like to join us, you can upgrade your subscription below. See you there!
