Hello! It has been just over a month and a half since this newsletter shuttered its doors. In terms of how much has happened in that time, by my math approximately 362 years have passed since last we communed together in this space. So, again, hello. How are you? I hope you’re doing ok.
There is no real bit here, just a balancing of accounts. Well before I decided to let this project lapse my oldest son had asked if he could poll the readership for a school project. The project concerns the 2025 Seattle Mariners, and the impacts of sports in developing, maintaining, and enriching communities. Even though I decided to move on from The Light Bat, I haven’t yet moved on from parenting, so I want to keep up my end of the bargain. If you’d be so kind as to fill out this (very short) Google form, which is completely anonymous, I and he would be grateful.
Our hope is to get over 100 responses to this. If you know a Mariner fan who would be interested by all means feel free to share. My son and I are very grateful to any and all of you who choose to participate in the survey. Through your kindness you not only help him get an excellent grade, thus enhancing the likelihood that I will not beggar myself sending him to college next year, you grant - as the title of this post implies - this newsletter the blessing to pass from the torment of this world, and to finally find succor in the next.
Thanks so much. We appreciate you.
Goms.
