Hello space, hello sound!

Echotronica is the festival for the frontiers of sound — it revolves around sound in space and sound as space, and the myriad of new exciting things happening in contemporary music - human-computer interaction, spatial sound, emerging creative systems… you name it.

It’s envisioned and produced by Patrick Kizny, a creative entrepreneur and trans-media artist.

It’s taking place in the amazing protestant temple in a small village of Zeliszow, in southwest Poland. I arrived there in 2010, and was mesmerized by the decaying beauty of this temple.

Following the success of my short films, The Chapel and Rebirth, the place got noticed, the tides turned, and 15 years later, thanks to herculean efforts of our friends at Your Heritage Foundation it’s now used as a cultural arena.

For me, it’s an artistic homeland and unceasing source of inspiration.

I am mostly fascinated by the spatial aspects of sound, which are way less explored than the temporal dimension of music.

The idea is to turn the temple into an unprecedented spatial sound instrument, where the most novel approaches to computer music, free-improvisation and human spirit blend into a visceral experience.

There’s a lineup of friends and artists on the list for the inaugural edition (pssst…), but if you feel like you’d love to take part - holler at me. I want to connect and hear from you. We’re headed to throw the festival at the last week of August 2025.

The most fascinating part for me is exploration, going on so many levels — from diving neck deep into the frontiers of spatial sound, through artistic concepts all the way to conceptualizing the festival program and my performances. It’s great to be alive!

Nothing worth doing is ever easy, and there be challenges. Currently, I’m building relationships, exploring the technological aspects, some of which I’ll be sharing at Echotronica Lab section here, and… fighting for funding.
