The Life the Enemy Doesn’t Want You to Live

There is a battle happening over the quality of your life.

Not just how long you live.

Not just how much you accomplish.

Not just how full your calendar becomes.

But whether you actually experience the kind of life Jesus came to give you.

Jesus makes the contrast incredibly clear in John 10:10:

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”

—John 10:10

There are two very different agendas in this verse. One comes to steal. The other comes to give. And I think sometimes we become so accustomed to what has been stolen that we stop recognizing it as theft.

Our peace gets stolen by worry.

Our joy gets stolen by comparison.

Our presence gets stolen by distraction.

Our purpose gets buried beneath pressure.

Our relationships get crowded out by busyness.

Our ability to enjoy what God has already given us gets swallowed up by our obsession with what’s next.

And somewhere along the way, we can have a life that looks incredibly full while feeling completely empty.

But Jesus said: “I came that they may have life.”

Not just existence. Not just productivity. Not just achievement.

Life.

And not just life—but abundant life.

I think we have to be careful with that word because abundance can easily get reduced to more.

More money. More opportunity. More influence. More success. More stuff.

But the abundant life Jesus describes isn’t simply about the quantity of what we possess. It’s about the quality of life we experience in Him.

A life rich in peace. Deep in purpose. Rooted in His presence. Overflowing with His goodness. Free enough to be present. Secure enough to rest. Faith-filled enough to trust. Alive enough to actually enjoy the gifts God has already placed in our hands.

That’s abundance.

And according to Jesus, there is an enemy who would love nothing more than to steal it.

Maybe he can’t steal your calling, so he’ll steal your joy while you’re walking it out.

Maybe he can’t take your family, so he’ll keep you so distracted that you’re never fully present with them.

Maybe he can’t stop you from succeeding, so he’ll convince you that whatever you accomplish is never enough.

Maybe he can’t keep you from following Jesus, so he’ll keep you exhausted, anxious, hurried, and overwhelmed while you do it.

And suddenly we’re technically living... but we’re not experiencing LIFE.

This is why alignment matters.

Because sometimes protecting the abundant life Jesus gives us means recognizing what we’ve allowed the enemy to steal.

Your peace matters. Your joy matters. Your presence matters. Your relationships matter. Your ability to delight in God matters. Your soul matters.

Jesus paid too high a price for us to settle for surviving a life He came to make abundant.

So today, pay attention!

Where has the thief been stealing?

And where is Jesus inviting you back into LIFE?

Maybe abundance today looks like putting your phone down and being fully present. Maybe it’s refusing to rehearse the fear one more time. Maybe it’s resting without guilt. Maybe it’s laughing with your kids. Maybe it’s walking outside and noticing God’s creation. Maybe it’s saying no to something that keeps stealing your peace.

Maybe it’s simply sitting with Jesus and remembering: I already have what matters most.

Abundant life isn’t always about adding something.

Sometimes it’s about refusing to let the enemy keep stealing what Jesus has already given you.

It’s time to Arise & Align.

One Scripture. One thought. One question. One step. Fifteen minutes.

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”—John 10:10

Abundant life isn’t simply about having more. It’s about experiencing the fullness of what Jesus has already made available to us.

Jesus came to give me a full LIFE—and I will not let the enemy steal from me.

What has the enemy been stealing from the quality of my life?

My peace? My joy? My presence? My rest? My relationships? My ability to enjoy what God has already given me?

Don’t rush past this one.

Ask the Holy Spirit to show you where you’ve started accepting something Jesus never intended you to live under.

Identify one thing that has been stealing from the life Jesus wants you to experience.

Write it down.

Then ask: “Jesus, what does abundant life look like here?”

Now choose one action that agrees with His answer.

Turn off the phone. Release the worry. Take the walk. Have the conversation. Rest. Celebrate. Be present. Worship.

Whatever it is, reclaim that space today.

Not because you’re trying to manufacture a better life, but because you’re choosing to receive the life Jesus already came to give you.

Today I AM ABUNDANT.

Father,

Thank You for sending Jesus so that I could have life—and have it abundantly. Open my eyes to the places where I’ve allowed fear, hurry, comparison, distraction, pressure, or worry to steal from the life You’ve given me.

I don’t want to simply exist. I don’t want to be so busy building a life that I forget to actually live it. Teach me what abundance looks like according to Your Kingdom.

Restore my peace. Restore my joy. Restore my ability to be present. Help me recognize the goodness You’ve already placed around me and receive it with gratitude.

Today, I choose LIFE. I will not partner with what steals, kills, or destroys.

I choose to align myself with Jesus—the One who came to give me life to the full.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

That’s it.
