Wedding season is upon us, and so is the crucial dilemma of what the hell you should wear. I’ve decided I’m going to attempt the impossible and wear the same thing to all six weddings I have lined up this summer, and honestly we might already have a winner with this Vivere set. When I am buying for wedding season I am always looking for something that I can actually wear in my everyday too and this checks that box. The top especially, I know I’ll end up wearing it with denim and pumps. Polka dots also make me fill like a 1950s doll, and I love that for me.
Why they makes sense? easy, versatile, and even better when worn separately.
I am always on the hunt for good work shoes, something comfortable enough to carry me from my desk to after-work drinks or dinner, without making me want to cut my feet off by the end of the day. Not the easiest brief to fulfil. On a separate note, I hate having my toes out in the city, but I also know I can’t live in my beloved boots all year round. Enter mules and wedges. I am completely in love with Le Monde Beryl shoes. I would take every single pair if I could, but the one currently sitting in my wishlist is this one. It looks comfortable but still special, which is exactly what I look for when it comes to work shoes.
Why it makes sense: polished, potentially comfortable, perfect for spring and summer.
You know by now how much I love Maison Magdalena, the Romanian brand bringing a slower, more thoughtful approach back into fashion. I finally received my Brisa scarf, and I have to say it’s been my favourite purchase of the past two months. I’ve been wearing it with denim, as a simple scarf, and over my favourite trench coat. The quality is unmatched, and it just feels really worth it.
Another addition to my wardrobe has been this pair of barrel jeans by Roucha, which I feel will be perfect for bare ankles season, fun and different enough. I would recommend definitely sizing down, as they run quite big and baggy.
Another pair I am currently reaching for over and over again is this pair. Size down here too, so you’ll have a pair you never take off, as they will fit in all the right places. I need to tailor mine and make them a little shorter, but they are gooooorgeous and just the perfect shade of blue. When I want something a little tighter, I generally go for this pair instead, in the colour Detox, which I feel is the perfect dark navy everyday denim, and they just fit so well.
Why it makes sense: I welcomed three new, good-quality pairs because I finally parted ways with all the ones I kept carrying over from my high school days. About time, Giulia.
As you might know by now, I love a good blazer, a piece that is very much part of my overall style. New in my wardrobe was this blue blazer, whose Japanese collar is so classy and makes an amazing formal attire with the matching trousers. Easy to dress down depending on the shoes and accessories.
This super cute balloon one by Vivere has also recently joined my rotation, screaming spring and clearly calling for a massive flower brooch. Then there is this ultra-structured one by Mimchik, which I have been wearing a lot and am trying to squeeze all the wears I can out of before spring properly springs, as it is quite thick.
Why it makes sense: one for pre-spring, one for proper spring and one for office spring.
I promised myself to buy a little more for the life I have and not for the one I aspire to have. So fewer dresses, which I wear significantly less than any other pair of leggings or sweatpants. That’s why I desperately needed something I can reach for on repeat while still feeling cool enough. I picked the midweight option so I could get as many wears out of it as possible, as it is wearable all year round. Loving this Pangaia navy set, which I’ve been wearing from Sunday coffee walks to cinema nights or just chilling at home with friends. I absolutely adore how soft it is. Big, massive yes.
Why it makes sense: perfect airport fit too.
I struggle to find trench coats that don’t cost a fortune and are long enough, as I always want a bit of length when I picture myself in one. I had my eyes on it for a while and finally got it! I wear it with basically everything. I love that I can add the scarf, which is especially useful given the very unpredictable British weather I have to brace myself against on a daily basis. It’s lined too, which is always a plus and not something to take for granted.
Why it makes sense: It’s a staple that will never get old.
I recently saw my dear friend Liza Belmonte wearing this beauty and I cannot stop thinking about it. Sitting on my wishlist, hopefully not for long!
