Wooo boy howdy, has it been a while. Over six months, in fact, since I last sent you an email. Sorry about that. Or, if your inbox is as much of a dumpster fire as mine, you’re welcome, I guess.

So here I am again, and I’ve decided to send you a quick update on *checks notes* the worst day of the year to be sending emails.

Boy, that’s smart.

So what’s new? Well, you can now get THE ENTIRE FOURTH SEASON of The Sunset Chronicles, which are available to buy right now!

It took you long enough!

If you’re quick, you’ll notice something else… That’s right, as a little Black Friday treat, I’ve actually put all of my ebooks on sale for the princely sum of… absolutely nothing. For the next few days, you can get every episode of The Sunset Chronicles, the entire Blood on the Motorway trilogy, Darkness Come Alive, and Walker, completely free in ebook from Amazon.

Why have I done that? Well aside from being an extremely impulsive person, I’m trying to get a few more eyeballs on all the series in Kindle Unlimited, and since I couldn't actually discount the Sunset Chronicles episodes any lower than they already were, I had to go for the nuclear option. So go ahead, knock yourself out. Not sure how long they’ll be free for, probably only until the end of the weekend, but make sure you don’t miss out.

Seriously, all free?

As for other stuff, well it’s been an eventful six months. I deleted my website by mistake, and took a good two months off writing entirely, but I came back, as I always do. I’ve been working hard on the Sunset Chronicles. In fact, as we speak, I’m around 7,000 words away from writing THE END at the end of the first draft of the seventh and final season of The Sunset Chronicles.

This has been the main reason that I’ve taken a step back from publishing the earlier seasons, because the truth is, as I near the end of the story,I realised I’d painted myself into a few corners that were tricky (but thankfully not impossible) to escape from.

One of the things that first drew me to write a serialised science fiction was to see where the story took me, and by releasing episodes and seasons while still writing the later parts of the story has really driven it in some interesting directions that I absolutely didn’t see coming. But as I neared the end, I realised there was maybe a small benefit to be had in seeing exactly where the story went, over the last three and a bit seasons, so that I could take some of where we’re going and seed it a little more completely in what remained. So, from this point on, you can be confident that not only is the end coming, but what follows now has been written with entirely that ending in mind.

And I promise not to leave it six months between episodes, next time.

What else?

Oh, I’ve been very privileged to work on some really fun cover designs for some very good friends and some extremely talented writers:

I’m really pleased to have worked with four such incredible writers, ad you should definitely check all four books out, you can find them all in your local/good/evil book emporium. Pyres and Lionhearts in particular are absolutely scorching reads that are very much centered around the dystopian hellscape we currently find ourselves in. Which is nice!

Check out Lionhearts by Dan Howarth

Check out Pyres by Kev Harrison

That’s about it for now. There is more, but maybe I’ll hold it back for now, and try not to leave it six months between.

Oh yeah, I promised two Staind references. I’ll leave you with this little bit of joy that I discovered this week. If you’ve never heard the end credits song for Aliens Infestation on the Nintendo DS I beg you to stop and listen right now, it’s as though Staind swallowed the plot of Aliens and spat out the pinnacle of all human achievement.

Until next time, happy reading, and just remember: Their fate depends on whether there’s an airlock, whether they’re in space and whether there’s A CHICK WHO’S JUST TOO FAST TO BE CUT.

Paul
