After 2 years of financial uncertainty and fear, I’ll be leaving my current day job at the end of June, and I’ve been getting a lot of this lately:
“are you counting the days?”
“how many more weeks do you have?”
“I’m sure you can’t wait!”
I know all of these are so well intentioned, but they’re not landing for me. I’m not in anticipation of anything, simply rejoycing in the ability to live in the present with a calmer mind.
I feel great about today.
I feel relieved that my brain doesn’t feel burdened.
I feel fully satisfied with the content of my days.
That makes me feel very wealthy and privileged.
And I’m also sitting here in that state, writing to you, thanks to my ongoing dedication to realign my life and pursuits again and again, anytime they feel off.
I just cannot bear living a life that feels like an ill fitting garment, one you get at the fast fashion store, where the leg is too tight in some parts, and the waist is gaping in the back, and the button already feels like it’s about to fall even though you’ve worn it twice. I haven’t had one of these in decades.
We deserve good days. We deserve good lives.
We deserve to live lives where the only reason why we go on vacation is to explore a new place, not take a break from our daily schedules.
We deserve lives that bring us joy, and connection, and peace of mind.
I beg all of us to live in the present more, to forget about next week end, time off, vacation or plan, and to stay here and now. To be honest about the pace of our lives and its content, and take a good look at what brings us joy, satisfaction, frustration and sadness.
When you look at your week, where do you stand?

May often brings a burst of energy, inspiration, and the feeling that life is speeding up: longer days! warmer evenings! fuller calendars! In Ayurveda, this kind of expansion can feel uplifting and energizing, but too much movement without enough of its opposite can leave us overstimulated, depleted, and running on nerves or stimulants instead of true vitality.
This month, try creating a little more space in your day before filling it. Pause before saying yes to more. Step outside for a few quiet moments. Eat meals slowly and regularly. Small moments of steadiness can go a long way in helping your energy feel clear, calm, and sustainable.
Tea tree essential oil is invigorating, and a strong circulatory mover to use with care. It is known as a cleansing, clearing and antimicrobial oil that may support immunity and is tonifying for folks who have low vital energy.
It’s also a good ally for folks who want to support a positive outlook on life and move away from feeling victimized. It is said to boost morale as well as resistance.
Please be mindful of using tea tree around young children and pets.
