Ryan Kaufman · The Growth Playbook

Arjun Mahadevan is the CEO of doola - a platform to launch, maintain, and grow your DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) LLC in the U.S

The startup is growing, but he wanted to growth hack a valuable resource.

One that every startup competes for…

Attention!

Here’s how he did it👇

Arjun challenged himself.

For 66 days, he posted 66 threads on Twitter + Linkedin

He wanted to make a splash for his brand and his startup

He decided to take on this challenge to…

1) Build brand/authority - in DAO niche

2) Position doola as the go to DAO creation solution

3) Maximize learning on DAO's

So... after 66 days, was it worth it?

This was Arjun’s journey👇

On Jan 24, Arjun announced his 66 thread in 66 day challenge.

He announced he will write about:

  • DAO’s (his niche)

  • Teardown's of existing DAO’s

  • doola (his startup)

Sharing valuable content and guidance in his space while learning as much as he could.

All 66 threads found here

The next day he launched doola on Product Hunt becoming the #2 product of the day.

It raised awareness for his product/brand and tapped into the PH community - a group of passionate people in the tech, web3, and crypto space (his audience).

This gained momentum on day 1.

Arjun leveraged momentum for future launches.

Over the 66 days, he launched:

  • Full support for DAO formation worldwide

  • Partnership with @syndicateDAO

  • Created a custom landing page for DAO LLCs

  • DAO blog post

The challenge also helped him get closer to his audience.

With many questions/conversations, he opened 24 slots *on a Sat* for free consultations. All 24 meetings were booked Clear demand as proof of his growing authority around the subject of LLCs, DAOs and C Corps.

So... did it work? What were the results like?

As a result of constantly creating content, building relationships, and adding value to his space, he was able to…

  • Build an audience and grow a community

  • Establish brand/founder authority (recognition in the DAO/web3/crypto space)

  • Gain brand credibility for his startups → the #1 DAO LLC tooling option

  • Gain awareness for doola and additional launches

Feedback from DM’s definitely proves he made a splash

Arjun was able to gain traction, increase inbound leads, and increase revenues. He developed…

  • Strong organic growth for DAO LLC offering

  • SEO authority (#1 organic search result for DAO LLC with blog posts)

  • DAO tooling vertical, positioned to pursue related products

With the experiment showing clear results, let's break down:

  • why it worked (key to success)

  • lessons learned

  • what he would change if he could it all over again

Over the 66 days, these were his most important learnings:

1) consistency>intensity - 1 thread a day is possible but takes time and planning

2) The world doesn't happen to you, you have to happen to the world (make things happen)

3) The harder you work the luckier you get. 66 days threads = 66 chances to “go viral.”

4) Do more things with asymmetric upside (ie posting a tweet). The worst thing that happens is no one reads it

What he credits for his success:

1) Was super consistent (did it daily)

2) Repurposed content on linkedin, exposure to people not on twitter

3) Batch threads writing on Sundays to get in to a flow state for writing

Arjun plans to leverage this 66 day sprint to: - Create his own DAO - Start an interview series with founding teams of DAO's - Build closer relationships with his audience A prime example of the power of audience building

While this 66 day experiment might not be for everyone, what anyone can takeaway is - Audience growth is about providing value X consistency - Growth compounds and takes time, don’t quit too early (commit) - Community and building with your audience is a powerful thing

That’s all for now!
