The Rule That Keeps Small Problems From Living in Your Head All Week

A strange amount of mental exhaustion comes from things that would take very little time to handle.

The email you keep remembering but never answer. The appointment you mean to book. The drawer that annoys you every time you open it. The conversation you know needs a simple follow up. The subscription you keep meaning to cancel. The tiny decision that somehow gets reconsidered every morning.

None of these things are serious enough to become emergencies.

That is exactly why they survive.

Big problems demand attention. Small problems are easy to postpone. They quietly follow you from Monday into Tuesday, from Tuesday into Thursday, and eventually into the weekend.

You may not even be actively thinking about them all day. They simply remain somewhere in the background, creating the feeling that life is slightly unfinished.

The rule I want to give you today is simple.

Do not let a small problem stay vague for more than one week.

You do not have to solve everything immediately.

But by the end of the week, every small problem should receive one of four things.

Action.

A date.

A decision.

Or release.

That is how you stop small problems from renting space in your head for free.
