I Want to Stay Quiet

In an inspiration frenzy, while there was a flurry of newsletter ideas, I threw together this essay. I was originally excited about it, but later on, looked at it with a cocked head and a bitter twang on my tongue, as one does with a piece that no longer has luster. I lost confidence in the work. It was scattered without that handbrake u-turn back to a central theme.

I wanted to throw it away and by “away” I mean the catacombs of my file folders to gather dust, because I bury my darlings. But then I knew at some point, I’d lose my publishing schedule momentum and crash. Stress would ensue and with empty hands, I’d come asking for your forgiveness. This is a new year, though and I am free to try, to show the humanness of my missteps. Here it is.
