We say “be aware” instead of “be careful.”
It’s a small shift. But it changes everything.
“Be careful” comes from fear. It puts fear into the child’s body before they’ve even taken a step. “Be aware” invites presence. It says: pay attention, you can do this.
This is one of the things I work on with parents. The language we use with children doesn’t just guide them in the moment. It becomes the voice they carry inside.
I wanted to find a way to bring this into the home, into the daily rhythm of reading together. So we made a book.
Smile and Start Again: Balance Takes Practice is the first in the Chitta Learns Life series. It’s for children aged 2 to 4, and it’s really for the parent reading aloud. As you read, you practice a new language. Chitta falls. You say: smile and start again. And the next time your child falls, those words are already in you.
That’s the whole idea.

If this resonates, share it with a parent you know. Word of mouth is how books like this find the people who need them.
