The Fake Sharps · The Fake Sharps

Before we dive in lets take a look at some of the most popular trends for this weekend.

TL;DR, if you want to blind bet the under and the dogs across the board it isn’t a bad strategy. Other than the Rams game today, nearly every game is around a field goal.

This is truly an amazing time for gambling and this weekend is one of the best of the entire year.

Lets dive in!

But first…

Some internal housekeeping. As we enter 2026 it became apparent we needed to do a bit of a rebrand. Say goodbye to The Degenerate, and say hello to The Fake Sharps.

The Degenerate Weekly

NFL: 32-25-1 (+2.01 Units)

CFB: 23-30-1 (-9.87Units)

I’ve been on record as saying the Chargers are Fugazi. As recent as last year, I took their win total under. It lost. I almost went back to it this year, but thankfully I didn’t. The Chargers are 11-6 and once again have proved they are not a team you want to fade in the futures market.

But as Whitesnake once famously said…HERE I GO AGAIN ON MY OWN

Not a Patriots fan but have to admit I enjoy watching Drake Maye play football

As we were discussing these games on the Friday Board Review, Steak put it best. He said “if you’re betting on the Patriots, you’re betting on the fact that Drake Maye is special.” I love Drake Maye and I do not care who knows. He is a joy to watch play football. And I do indeed believe he’s special.

I’m not good at fading the Chargers. They’re the one team in the NFL I can’t get on the right side of, but this feels like the spot to get my redemption.

Did you know that over the last 10 years, dome teams are 1-14 in the playoffs when playing on the road with temperatures below 40 degrees at kickoff. That includes the Chargers, who are 0-2 in such games. (trend found on NESN)

Poor weather or good weather - it doesn’t even matter all that much to me. The Chargers have gone to the East Coast twice this season, and both times have lost.

They went down to the Giants in Jaxson Darts first start 21-18, and then get throttled 35-6 in Jacksonville. I know the Patriots haven’t beaten many good teams, as they’ve had one of the easiest schedules in NFL history, but the Chargers are the perfect opponent for them to face in Mayes first playoff game.

Justin Herbert, man. lol It’s incredible how he can praise the worst offensive line the league has seen in a decade. Maddening — and also exactly why he’s so beloved.

I respect Justin Herberts toughness. He broke his hand a few weeks, got surgery, and didn’t miss a game. The Chargers are scratching and clawing their way to victories without two of their best offensive lineman - Joe Alt and Rashawn Slater.

Harbaugh has done a terrific job and is getting the most out of his team. But they cannot keep up in a shootout, and Drake Maye is going to put points on the scoreboard.

The 49ers were rolling, winners of six straight until they ran into Seattle last week. They’re coming off two tough games in a shootout against the Bears and a bar fight against the Seahawks.

Last week the 49ers offense got shut down by a strong defense and with Jalen Carter and the Eagles getting healthy. That’s what I’m betting on here.

The Niners are banged up, but it’s the playoffs and it sounds like Kittle, Pearsall, and Trent Williams will suit up. But who knows how healthy these guys actually are.

Offensive tackles matter. The 49ers since 2020: - With Trent Williams: 61-32 - Without Trent Williams: 4-13 The Eagles since 2013 - With Lane Johnson: 110-57-1 - Without Lane Johnson: 18-27 #49ers #Eagles

CMC has over 400 touches and you have to think as some point he starts to break down.

Here’s a look at the 49ers linebacking core to start the season, per JL_Chapman:

  • Fred Warner IR

  • Dee Winters injured

  • Tatum Bethune injured

  • Nick Martin IR

  • Luke Gifford injured

In a year that feels completely wide opened, it’s crazy to me that the defending champs aren’t getting more love. But they’re starting too. This line has moved up to 5.5 after opening at 3.5 despite the 49ers getting more bets.

Sure, the Eagles offense has looked stagnant over the back half of the season, but this is a perfect matchup for them to exploit a broken-down defense and shut down a high powered offense.

Packers may be having their most interesting season I can remember. They made a trade for one of the best defensive players of this generation and were Super Bowl favorites for most of the year, then ended up losing in improbable fashion to the Chicago Bears and closing out the season losing four straight games to finish 9-7-1 and earn the 7 seed — and an opportunity to play these same Bears and Ben Johnson in a playoff game.

In the middle of all that, we’ve had QB injuries and controversies sprinkled in. There are some that think Malik Willis gives this Packers team a better chance to win games. Normally, I would HATE a team limping into the playoffs like this, but when it’s the Green Bay Packers, I actually kinda love it. It’s Love and LaFleur time to play spoiler and be the hunters instead of the hunted.

The first time we saw these teams face off we got some fireworks. Stafford had his one of his worst games of the season throwing 2 picks, one of them for a pick-six.

The first half had 38 points scored, but after the half things slowed down. We think this one picks up right were it left off.

The Rams are coming off a short week and they get Devonte Adams back, there could be a bit of rust. He was an absolute best for the Rams and lead the NFL in touchdown receptions (14), despite missing the last three weeks of the season.

The Rams biggest problem this year has been best explained as “playing with their food”.

This is a game McVay cannot mess around. Pound the ball. Let Kyren Williams eat. Chew up the clock. Move on to the next one.

Maybe the Rams blow them out. This is by far the biggest spread of the weekend (-10.5) but regardless, they are going to put the breaks on Bryce Young.

  • Patriots -3.5 -110 - Degens Best Bet

  • Eagles -5.5 -110 - Gregs Best Bet

  • Packers ML -125 - Steaks Best Bet

  • Rams/Panthers Under 46.5 -120
