Char is running a portraits theme in this month Blue Shine Art Club - head over and get inspired! Plus, she also has a few spots left on her upcoming art retreats, all the details are on her website.
I was so excited to be catching up with Char, I did a LOT of talking 😆 And not quite so much drawing, but started this piece during our live and finished it after, adding the text. I used Prismacolour pencils and fineliner pen on a loose Pith sheet of paper. The text was added later, using a dip pen and my home-made walnut ink.
And here’s Char stunning drawing, using marker pens in the ‘Ugly Books’ sketchbook which i’ve not heard of before but the name intreigues me so will look it up!
I pulled together quite a few photos to pick from for the session but the one I chose to draw was this one of a glorious oak tree canopy, from back in July:
