Sometimes scrolling through reels on social media rots your brain just enough to relax, and sometimes, it offers up a profound nugget of wisdom that wakes something up inside you.
Here are two such gems…
“A bird sitting in a tree is not afraid of the branch breaking. Their trust is not in the branch, but in their capacity to fly.” — Someone Wise on the Internet*
“The opposite of anxiety isn’t safety, it’s self-trust.” — Another Insightful Person on the Internet*
Because trusting in yourself and your inner brilliance is a huge part of my work, these little meditations were, obviously, right up my alley. Reading them delivered a shot of esspresso-like aliveness in my belly.
When you read these quotes, what comes up for you? How do these words and ideas land? Take a minute. Slow down and notice. What do you feel in your body?
You might notice something buzzy or warm bubble up, and you may also notice a kind of tension show up. Both are welcome. And in a way, both are expected.
Self-trust, despite its amazing capacity to support us, isn’t something we’ve always been encouraged to access.
One of the life-changing paradigms I work with in my practice is accessing the nourishing power of self-trust. Especially in moments of confusion and uncertainty.
Because insecurity and doubt are not the enemy to encouraging self-trust; they’re actually intelligent markers along the path. Everything has the potential to locate and unfold your inner genius if you know how to follow it.
The body will speak to it. The subconscious mind understands it. Your intuition or gut instincts point the way home to it.
Self-trust is at the very core of my coaching approach for a reason: It’s the steadying embrace around your inner wisdom. Radical trust in yourself gives you the confidence to be your most expansive self, and express your unique brilliance in the world. One step at at time. Even when doubt or confusion walk alongside you.
EVERYTHING changes when you fully trust yourself to navigate whatever your weird and wonderful life offers.
