Well what a week, if you are a brand and thinking of changing your branding I would leave it a while until the dust settles on Jaguar's rebrand announcement.
I remember when Jaguar cars were a high status vehicle. Usually driven by CEO's, and footballers in the 80's, and Inspector Morse. The E-Type jag being a icon of the sixties in Britain, I mean if you look at picture of an E-Type you brain instantly thinks of the 60's and cool. Well it now looks like Jaguar don't really make cars anymore. Well if we go by their new advertising campaign. Even Elon Musk asked them on his X platform if they make cars anymore?, nice dig there... ouch.
I did see some awesome meme's going around, some were very rude... but most were around the re-branding being done by interns. Apparently they are going to show us more next week. Perhaps they are thinking they can turn the brand into a 'Virgin'. Maybe we will have Jaguar banking, Jaguar airlines, Jaguar holidays. I bet you didn't think that did you.... sometimes the message can get mis-read by the general public, does anyone remember when the Royal Mail re-branded to Consignia back in 2001. That disaster cost the Royal Mail £2 million for the rebranding... I wonder how much Jaguars owners are splashing out.
