Here’s another line from the poem I wrote for student worker Z, based on questions she asked and our conversations that ensued:
Similar to last week, this is about letting all emotions flow through, even that sad, persistent melancholy that grows with you as the years go on. The trick is to breathe into the gloominess, to feel its presence in your body, and to express gratitude, even for this.

From my now-dormant Bunny Unsettled account on the Sketch-a-Day app, which turned out to be an awesome resource to ensure daily drawing. I have no recollection of what the prompt was for this one, for this simple reason: There was no prompt. This is life, this is me. Well, me at that time. (I did, however, find a suitable prompt weeks later.)
