TGIF! I started my day at Miolin Bakery, where Rishi and I split a caprese sandwich on the yummiest focaccia bread for breakfast, and I’m now writing you from the tarmac at LGA (& the front seat of my dad’s car), awaiting my departure to Kansas City. And let me tell you—this travel route is a lot sexier during the World Cup!
I am so excited to be traveling home, where I’ll be through the 4th of July, but my excitement is no match for my forever partner in life—anxiety :-) I woke up feeling overwhelmed—hence the 10 am sandwich, and while this feeling of overwhelm is not new, it’s been hanging around A LOT lately.
I pride myself on being able to keep it all under control, and right now I feel anything but. I blame the move! Coupled with the plans we made and the trips we booked pre-move.
I want to get settled, but somehow I’m barely ever at my apartment. And I have been trying to get back into my routine, yet I can’t seem to get to a workout class for the life of me. Instead, I’ve been taking myself out for ice cream after work. Which is actually something I recommend, and something we should all be doing.
And as I explained my feelings to my mom this morning, wondering somewhat rhetorically if this is how I’ll feel forever, she quickly answered, “Yes, I think so!”
Because I am someone who loves to say yes! I hate to disappoint, and I also love to have a million things in the works. Tons of places to be! People to see! People to text! (If you know me offline, you know I have become the work communicator—or maybe have been? Praise be the new Apple feature that allows you to filter your unread texts!)
I want to be available, and there for all, and as a result, I’m never available to myself—how deep. All this to say, I have never felt so fulfilled and happy. Most nights, I say to Rishi as we get into bed, “I’m so happy this is our home!” The thing that has seemingly disrupted every personal process in my life is also the thing bringing me so much joy. And justtttt you wait to see what we’ll do with the place!! :-)
So again, maybe this is just how it is? A rhetorical question, of course! Unless someone has the answer! lol And for the record, I skipped my morning pages, which is why my stream of consciousness has landed here. Hope you enjoyed!!
And with that, here are the other things taking up space in my brain this week—sandals with a high walk score, more cures for my adult acne, the cold brew + creamer combo that’s been making my whole morning, the bag I’m carrying everywhere, and some new swim that arrived justttt in time for my trip!

Big fan of Margaux, and big fan of these sandals! I’ve been wearing them around town, and per usual with most of their shoes, no break-in period required! And I’m a very prone-to-blisters gal. I mean, really, most cute shoes will cause blisters—I’m disappointed to report! They’re so comfortable, well-made, and the perfect sandal for work, weekend, vacation, etc.!

I love this bag SO much. I have been carrying it everywhere! Daytime things, nighttime things, and even to the gym once. Where I go, this bag goes! A little tote that has quickly become a summer staple. It was also the perfect bag to transition from our dreary spring to this humid summer.

Does everyone already know about these? Because they are life-changing. I briefly touched upon my large blemishes (so much cuter than pimples) last Friday, and what I’m doing to combat the adult acne that’s accompanied this busy month.
They really came into their prime while I was on set for work—kind of the worst place to have a breakout, but also the best, because there are several makeup artists on-site. I made the mistake of removing the patches I’d placed at home upon arrival, which only made my face look worse. Luckily, one of the makeup artists helped me cover them, which is when I learned about these miracle patches.
I ordered them while in her chair (from Amazon & under $10!) and have been using them as needed ever since. They come in three options—acne spot dots, aka the OG; Deep Blemish Microdarts for our underground friends; and Dark Spot Microdarts for the aftermath! The Microdarts are really where it’s at, and I’m so glad to have these in my arsenal.
I really love it when packages arrive just in time for travel, and these suits arrived just in time for the holiday weekend ahead. I got my first ANEMOS suit this winter for a trip to Mexico and really fell in love with the brand. Timeless silhouettes, luxe fabric that feels so good on your skin, and really chic colors. So excited to wear both of these—more pics to come!

I kind of LOL that this was the MVP of my week, but drinking a delicious cold brew while I get ready in the morning is really just the best best. And sometimes it’s the simple things in life, ya know!
Another thing I discovered while on set! The café was serving cold brews, and when I inquired which brand they were using, I didn’t expect it to be something I could grab at the grocery store. Highly recommend the almond creamer as well, but the coffee on its own is SO good.
However, this at-home experience has taken me down a coffee rabbit hole, and I’m now staying up late Googling espresso machines! It may be the next step on my coffee journey, and Fellow (the maker of our regular coffee maker) is having a sale right now. They’re quite the investment, but I’m very drawn to the green, as well as the blue! Because how pretty would that look sitting on my counter? Time is running down, so opinions are welcome! Will I use it for a week and get over it? Hard to say! lol

Reformation x Umbro. I feel like there are SO many brands jumping on the World Cup bandwagon—and I’m not here to judge, I love a sports bandwagon. (Go Knicks!) But I will say most can be skipped, and this is a good one! Some really great shorts, and a very fun anorak. And most importantly, things you’ll wear over and over again!

It wouldn’t be the best best newsletter if I didn’t start by noting the passage of time. I was about to write that it had been ages since I shared my own personal fixations—well, at least in the friday five (!!) form, but upon review, it’s been about six weeks. So, really not that long?
