INCIDENTS
03-145: Gateway Isle Botanical Interpretive Trail
A ranger walking the Gateway Isle Botanical Interpretive Trail before opening it for the day found a Siren’s Bloom that had sprouted overnight and was occupying the entirety of the trail. Landscaping and maintenance were called, and together the two teams were able to successfully relocate the Siren’sBloom to a more suitable area. Unfortunately, amidst the move, the 9 rats that had been trapped within the digestion chamber of the Bloom were able to escape into the surrounding garden. The Preserve’s official mousecatchers (John, Ringo, and Big Stupid) have been dispatched to assist in rounding up the rogue rodents.
03-146: Taller’s Point Trailhead Pit Toilet
A guest, L.W. from Queenstown, N.Z., became stuck in the Taller’s Point Trailhead Pit Toilet while attempting to retrieve a wedding ring that he had accidentally dropped into the Toilet. L.W. was stuck in the pit toilet for 25 minutes before he was found by another visitor and was brought to the Preserve Medical Center to be treated for acute nausea before being released. The wedding ring was successfully recovered.
