Below is the sixth newsletter for our objective to flip the flow of how we are governed. Instead of giving our power to the politicians … Let’s give that power to the people and let the people build their communities and govern themselves. We will issue these newsletters every 2-weeks or so between now and our local Election Day on October 26.

Imagine the people governing themselves. We can.

It is doable. But we will have to revolutionize ourselves to change that flow. We can do that too.

This mission starts local — from the neighbours in our communities to our local Town Hall. And the more that other communities do the same, the more the power of the people will flow into provincial and state capitals and right into the seats of the federal government.

We are starting it in our own local community … The Front of Yonge Township in Eastern Ontario Canada. Hopefully, we are setting an example for other communities to do the same.

NEWSLETTER - JULY 19 2026

Last Wednesday, I registered myself as a candidate in this fall’s election for our local Town Council.

This is not exactly what I expected to be doing at this stage of my life. It is not even my own future that concerns me at this point, but it is the future of my kids and the future of their kids that concern me. As such, I feel it to be necessary.

This decision came down to a fundamental basic calculation. I am 68-years old. I have seen our political landscape deteriorate through incompetence or corruption (or some combination of the two). The result? Everything has deteriorated. I cannot place any trust or confidence in our institutions, our government, our corporations, nor our media. I also know the majority of us see it the same way.

This has not happened in one event. It happened over time — which indicates a clear trendline. And that trendline will continue on its trajectory UNLESS a serious pivot in its direction is made. Without a serious pivot, things will deteriorate further and that will happen at an even faster pace. That is the trend — which we can all clearly see.

The corporations keep winning. The bankers keep winning. The entitled billionaire class keeps winning. Even foreign countries keep winning. And every one of their victories is coming from losses to ourselves. How does this loss manifest? Look around … every single structural aspect of our lives has gotten worse. And we all know it.

As I write this, I have met several hundred of you across our Township over the past couple of months. The vast majority of you (I would estimate it to be well over 7 out of 10 of you) have the same concern. We are already in majority agreement which is absolutely in our favour. And we should organize ourselves to take advantage of it to fix it.

You have given me the motivation to run for Town Council. I am not alone in my rage about this failed system of governance we have. In fact, I am merely one among a majority.

I am here to do what I can to deliver that necessary pivot — to bend the trajectory in the right direction. To actually engage the freedom and peace we are losing into winning freedom and peace.

It has to start somewhere.

I have previously written about the flow of power. It flows from the federal government to the provincial government to our local town hall and finally down to us. That flow is backwards!!! We are sitting at the bottom rung of power and we should be sitting on the top rung.

In actual real democracy, the power of governance is supposed to flow from us. We are supposed to be the foundation of power. Right now, all the power is centered on the Epstein Class. It is centered in banker boardrooms, corporate executive offices, elite mansions and private islands, and special interests. What we have today is not democracy. What we deserve and desire is democracy. That requires a flip of power.

The first step is on us deciding how our community operates and moves forward — via our Town Hall. Yes – the flow has to start locally. It has to start with each of us and how we decide to build our own community. And from there, it will flow up to our provincial government and ultimately to our federal government. Of course it will, because we will be standing together as a strong community and we will demand it. That is how democracy is supposed to work!

And I can prove it. Take a look at point 1(a) in the definition of democracy itself. The people rule.

Arguing with the flow that underlies where our power truly belongs would only be arguing with the dictionary itself. It does not get more basic than that.

Our system is upside down and we have to flip it rightside up. And that has to start with us. It has to start with us coming together and empowering ourselves as a community through our local Town Hall.

Who are we waiting for to set things right? It’s us.

Flipping this entire flow of power rightside up has to start somewhere and someone has to start it. That is why I am running for our local Town Council in this fall’s election. To flip the flow of power rightside up.

My election platform is very simple and absolutely basic. It is to engage us as a community to govern ourselves.

How we do it is also pretty basic. We have to maximize the transparency of our Town Hall and our Town Council to engage our neighbours in the decision-making process. Everything our Town Council does should be a reflection of what we – together as neighbours as a community – decide. We build our community together.

If elected, I am going to make this platform the priority. Town Council will not make decisions behind closed doors anymore. If I am elected, I will be sitting in the Council Meetings. I will see to it that transparency and accountability become mandatory.

I will even take it further. I will be advocating for the use of Internet technology to build and operate a simple online platform to open the flow of ideas to all our neighbours. The technology is there. I actually already have a functional spec and quote to have it built and to operate it.

What it does is allow any one of us to present an idea to us all. It allows every one of us to add to the idea, to improve on the idea, to debate the idea, to discuss the idea, and to ultimately vote on the idea. The process is called “democracy” and the technology opens the doors to actually deliver it.

I do not believe that politicians have ideas on how to build the community we want. That belief is defined by the issue of incompetence and corruption. And we have had more than enough of that approach!

I believe the people – our neighbours – have ideas. Good ones and even great ones.

I already heard quite a few good ideas. They range from the simple. Can we have dog tags for the life of the dog instead of having to renew them every year? To the more complex. Can we hire our own local general practitioner doctor? And there are so many more in-between. Every one of them deserves not just to be heard, but to have discussion and debate about them.

The proposed online democracy app is designed to give every one of us the platform to propose ideas and to open the door for us all to discuss them and even make them even better ideas. And ultimately to decide via democratic vote what our community does. And we have the technology so that everyone can participate from their phone or laptop at their convenience.

And then the role of Town Council becomes very simple: It is solely to implement the decisions we - together - have made. We will build our community together.

The power will flow from us to our Town Hall instead of the other way around.

And – think about it — if we do that here, my bet is other communities will want the same power. How many other communities want dog tags issued for the life of the dog? How many also want access to a community doctor? We will be setting an example. We will all be leaders. And that is how we organize to flip the flow of power into the provincial and federal political seats as well.

Our Town Council has five members (a Mayor and four Councillors) and I will merely be only one of them. But every meeting I will bring the people into the decision-making process. Every meeting, I am going to propose that our Council adopt and implement this proposed “Democracy App”.

Town Council meets twice a month every month for its term of 4-years. I will keep pressing every single meeting for them to adopt democracy and to leverage the power of technology to deliver it.

At the core of my demand will be a vigilance of transparency and accountability for the decisions our Council makes. There will be no more decisions made behind closed doors. I will do this at every meeting. Every meeting for the next 4-years.

What is my stance on every other issue? It should not matter, because your stance defined as a majority consensus with your neighbours is what my obligation as your representative in Town Hall is.

My platform is to flip the flow of power right-side up. That is my platform.

Election day is October 26. Mark that date down and show up to vote. Your vote for me will actually be a vote for yourself. Vote for actual democracy and let’s build our community together with it.

We can do this. After meeting so many of you already, I know we can. And I know we deserve to. A thriving community that respects our individual freedoms and surrounds us with peace is our future if we choose to embrace it. Let’s do it.
