AOC Would Be A Liberal Imperialist President.

It looks more and more likely that Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (AOC), the Democratic New York representative, will run for president in 2028.

She recently stated that she “hasn’t ruled out the possibility” of running for president in 2028.

If AOC runs as president, the most important question to ask is what will an AOC presidency’s foreign policy look like?, the most important focus of a United States president.

All indications show that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez would govern as a liberal imperialist, supporting liberal Zionism, propping up the CIA’s meddling machines such as USAID and NED, supporting militaristic alliances like NATO, and supporting imperialist wars in the name of Democracy and humanitarianism.

While AOC has offered criticism of Israel’s genocidal wars of conquest, she is in no way an anti-Zionist.

Until recently, AOC openly supported sending supposed “defensive” weapons to Israel.

On X, she even openly boasted about voting against Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene’s amendment to cut off defensive arms being given to Israel, writing on X:

Marjorie Taylor Greene’s amendment does nothing to cut off offensive aid to Israel nor end the flow of US munitions being used in Gaza. Of course I voted against it.

What it does do is cut off defensive Iron Dome capacities while allowing the actual bombs killing Palestinians to continue.

I have long stated that I do not believe that adding to the death count of innocent victims to this war is constructive to its end. That is a simple and clear difference of opinion that has long been established.

I remain focused on cutting the flow of US munitions that are being used to perpetuate the genocide in Gaza.

Forget supporting a weapons embargo or sanctions on Israel; as late as July 2025, AOC was still defending the policy of sending “defensive arms” to Israel as it conducted a genocide, protecting Israel from any repercussions for committing genocide.

As Jewish Currents noted, “By almost entirely negating the ability of militant groups in Gaza to respond to Israel’s incursions, the purportedly defensive Iron Dome allows Israel to strike without fear of repercussion”.

Furthermore, AOC made clear during the Biden presidency that she cared more about her position within the Democratic Party than stopping the Israeli Genocide in Gaza.

As the Biden administration was giving Israel a blank check to carry out its Holocaust in Gaza, AOC lied and claimed that then Vice President Kamala Harris was “working tirelessly to secure a cease-fire in Gaza and bringing the hostages home”.

In reality, as the former U.S. ambassador to Israel, Thomas Nides, admitted on Israeli TV, “At the most significant political peril of Joe Biden’s political career, the easiest thing for Joe Biden would have been, if he was worried about the votes in Michigan, is to basically be a little soft; he refused to do it. There was enormous pressure within the White House on him to change his position. When I hear comments about ‘he wasn’t good enough, or he didn’t have Israel’s back,’ am I disgusted by it? One hundred percent. Is it true? 100 percent no”.

On the same TV episode, former Israeli ambassador to the U.S., Michael Herzog admitted, “God did the State of Israel a favor that Biden was the president during this period, because it could have been much worse. We fought for over a year, and the administration never came to us and said, ‘ceasefire now.’ It never did. And that’s not to be taken for granted.”

Another major issue with AOC’s foreign policy positions is that she seems to support the CIA meddling in countries around the world in the name of promoting “Democracy”.

At the Munich security conference, where AOC laid out her foreign policy vision, she laid out her opposition to what she called an “age of authoritarianism” and said that America should not walk away from it’s “commitment to democracy”, on the world stage.

While this may sound fine on paper, the framing of the world as being a fight between “democracy” and “authoritarianism” is mainly a propaganda tool of the Neo-conservatives and their interventionist agenda.

Countries that go along with the Neo-conservative agenda, such as the UK- which has arrested thousands of citizens for supporting Palestine Action, a non-violent direct action group, or Ukraine, an outright dictatorship are labeled as free democracies, while countries that do not bow down to U.S. economic and foreign policy dictates are labeled as “authoritarian” and in need of regime change.

U.S. “democracy promotion initiatives”, such as the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)- in reality cutouts of the CIA-have backed coups against elected governments that did not bow down to the CIA’s demands across the world.

Some recent examples include the short-lived coup against Hugo Chavez in Venezuela in 2002, the coup against Jean-Bertrand Aristide in Haiti in 2004, the coup against Viktor Yanukovych in Ukraine in 2014, the failed coup attempt against Daniel Ortega in Nicaragua in 2018 and the judicial coup against presidential candidate Calin Georgescu in Romania in 2024.

The same organizations that backed these CIA coups, the NED and USAID, are strongly supported by AOC.

“First and foremost, I think we need to revisit our commitments to international aid not just USAID but the the dozens of global compacts that the current secretary of state and President Trump have withdrawn from, They are looking to withdraw the United States from the entire world so that we can turn into an age of authoritarianisms of authoritarians” AOC said at the Munich security conference, referring to the organization responsible for overthrowing multiple elected government around the world.

As for the National Endowment for Democracy, AOC voted against an amendment, brought forward by U.S. representative Eli Crane to cut funding to the NED, an organization that not only funded the aforementioned coups, but whose current leader, Damon Wilson admitted to fuelling the riots that led up to the U.S/Israeli war in Iran, and more recently admitted to meddling in Nicaragua with the intention of regime change.

There is little doubt that a president AOC would pump up and fund the NED and USAID to meddle and back coups in countries going against U.S. dictates around the world in the name of a “commitment to democracy” against an “age of authoritarianism”.

To add evidence that AOC’s rhetoric of “Democracy” vs, “Authoritarianism” is a cover for warmongering, she has explicitly supported the Neo-con proxy war in Ukraine using this exact rhetoric.

As I documented in a recent post, the Russian invasion of Ukraine was intentionally provoked by the United States through expansion of NATO eastwards and threats to welcome Ukraine into NATO, backing a coup against Ukraine’s government in 2014, sparking a civil war against ethnic Russians in Eastern Ukraine and blocking the Minsk Accords, the peace deal that would have ended the war. The U.S. and UK then went on to block a peace deal that Russia and Ukraine agreed to negotiated by Turkey in April of 2022, all in order to use Ukraine to weaken Russia.

Amanda Sloat, a top Biden administration official, outright admitted that the U.S. could have ended the proxy war in Ukraine and all the “the destruction and the loss of life” that came with it, but chose not to, saying, “We had some conversation even before the war started, about what if Ukraine comes out and just says to Russia, ‘fine, you know, we won’t go into NATO if that stops the war, if that stops the invasion,’ which at that point it may well have done. I guess if you want to do an alternative version of history, one option would have just been for Ukraine to say in January of 2022, ‘fine, you know, we won’t go into NATO, we will stay neutral.’ Ukraine could have made a deal around March/April of 2022 around the Istanbul talks. There is certainly a question, almost three years on now, would that have been better to do before the war started, would that have been better to do in Istanbul talks, it certainly would have prevented the destruction and the loss of life”.

AOC supported this war, by voting for every arms package sent to Ukraine during the avoidable proxy war.

She reported the same Neo-Con babble about supporting “Democracy” to justify her support of the war, saying to the House Oversight Committee, “The core and the key that we have here geopolitically and in stability, is in supporting Ukraine in this moment. Having U.S. military assistance and broader global assistance to Ukraine should be one of our top geopolitical priorities. Whether your interest is in China, whether the interest is in anywhere else there, all of the focus here is in Ukraine, and in supporting and ensuring that Putin and an authoritarian regime in Russia does not prevail in changing the geo-political order, rule of law, and functioning democracy worldwide” and adding, “Anything that impedes the swiftness and the urgency of our ability to get that support to Ukraine is overall contributing to the volatility of our situation”.

At the Munich Security Conference, AOC said “we shouldn’t reward imperialism. And I don’t think that we should allow Russia to continue or any nation to continue violating a nation’s sovereignty and to continue to be rewarded” in repose to a question about continuing the proxy war in Ukraine.

AOC’s main foreign policy advisor Matt Duss, who likely would have a high position in an AOC administration is also a strong supporter of the proxy war in Ukraine, writing, “The Biden team clearly did not seek this war (in Ukraine), in fact, they made a strenuous, and very public, diplomatic effort to avert it [an outright lie, as documented by the Amanda Sloat admissions above]. Having been unable to do that, they’ve acted with restraint and care not to get drawn into a wider war with Russia while also making clear the stakes of the conflict for the U.S., for Europe, and for the international system”, in defence of the Biden administration’s proxy war.

AOC’s record shows that she will not put a full stop to the U.S/Israel relationship, while continuing endless coups and proxy wars like the one in Ukraine, if they are sold by the deep state in the name of “democracy” and “countering authoritarianism”.

AOC if she is elected president, may make some changes to U.S. foreign policy, but she will no doubt continue the U.S. empire, only under a more liberal “pro-Democracy” guise.
