My ultimate (work) goal this month is to finish embroidering, beading, and sewing together my Strength themed tarot gloves. This has been an unfinished project that has haunted me all year and to help me stay motivated I am setting the intention to connect more with the themes of the Strength card for July.

Even though this tarot card is one of the extra beautiful ones, I have felt a lot of resistance to it last year. I am beginning to understand that the resistance is part of the lesson of the card. Perhaps true strength is about how we get through difficult times & how living in the heart-space will give you ~strength~ to move forward.

I thought I would share with you some of my notes and random sketches that I’ve made to help me understand STRENGTH

this is an embroidered heart with wings I made back in 2019

My Strength brainstorming list:

  • wildness

  • deep care for those around you

  • connection to and respect for animals

  • fighting for what you believe in

  • protecting the environment & working with the earth

  • your heart is your source of power

  • balancing feral & gentle

  • spend time outside

  • sing songs & dance

  • joyful fitness

  • lots of rest

  • animal rights activism & environmental activism

  • eat summer fruits (plums, cherries, etc)

  • bake breads and enjoy with your loved ones (bake abundance & healing spells into the bread)

  • forage materials to make art out of and/or make art from trash

  • bird watching

some random ideas for strength inspired accessories and garments because fashion is fun

Strength inspired questions to ask yourself:

  • What are your passions?

  • What does living a passionate life look like for you?

  • How do you care for yourself when you are going through a difficult situation?

  • In what ways does love inspire you?

  • what are your strengths?

The following images are drawings & notes I made as I read: The Pagan Book of living and Dying, By Starhawk. Strength in the tarot makes me think about the heart-space & resilience in difficult times. I cannot help but to also think about loosing my cat Uzi this past year and what that experience has been like. It’s a very wild/raw feeling to grieve & the lesson I have right now from that is: the pain of loss is being full of love. Theres something there that is very difficult but very special.

I made a YouTube video sharing some of my process working on my strength gloves….

I plan on sharing more videos of my progress with making these gloves on here & on my patreon for my paid subscribers… I think I should have a follow up vlog next week but we will see how fast I can edit it.

this is a piece I made back in 2020 inspired by strength

thanks for reading & I hope you have a great start to July <3
