The business you built in 2020 won’t carry you in 2026

Welcome back to my 3-part content series. If you missed Part 1, we talked about the real reason showing up online can feel heavy or inconsistent (hint: it’s not about motivation). Now we’re zooming out and looking at the big picture.

What worked for your business even two years ago might be what’s keeping you stuck right now.

The way we buy, sell, consume, and connect online is evolving rapidly and it’s taking brands that haven’t evolved with it by surprise…

In 2020, a lot of people started or reshaped their businesses quickly out of necessity or creative drive.

It was a crazy time and that momentum worked. Well for a while anyway.

Here’s what I am seeing now (and to be totally honest experienced this myself):
The offer that once felt aligned now feels heavy.
The systems that once worked now feel clunky.
The website you launched with pride now makes you cringe.
The content you used to share? You’re either stuck, ghosting it or not seeing results.

Times have changed drastically. And that disconnect you’re feeling?
It’s not a personal failure.
It’s an invitation to something bigger…

You would have to be living under a rock to not notice the massive changes happening around us.

People are fatigued. They’re tired of hype, funnels, formulas and fluff. Think about the last time you joined an email list? I bet you are a lot more picky these days compared to how you used to be.

Trust matters more than ever. People have been burnt more times than they want to admit. They are hesitant to throw their money at offers. This means generic brands won’t cut it. People want to feel who you are and see how they can trust you.

AI is everywhere. OMG I don’t know about you but I am so sick and tired of seeing AI generated photos and videos. Plus the boring captions that go with them. The brands that will stand out are the ones that feel deeply human and real.

Money is being spent more intentionally. Offers that feel vague or out of touch will get passed over. Specificity is the key. The more specific your offer is the better.

System fatigue is real. Clients are craving simplicity, clarity and personalised support.

If your brand, offer suite or systems haven’t evolved to meet this shift, you are going to feel it in your leads, your content flow and your income. Most likely you have noticed this already.

No one is immune to this. Every single business will experience this at some point (if they haven’t already).

I’ve recently gone through my own evolution. I’m still in it but I can clearly see the direction I’m heading.

For me currently I’m in a phase of doing all the foundational work. It’s a lot but I can already see it’s worth it. In early 2016 I’ll be implementing the final touches and this is all going to come together.

I know this is going to bring massive momentum to my brand and business (every single evolution does).

If you are suspecting your own evolution needs to happen, here’s a list of questions that might help:

  • Does my brand still reflect where I’m going, not just where I’ve been?

  • Am I proud to send someone to my website?

  • Is my offer suite aligned with what I actually want to sell in 2026?

  • Are my systems helping me scale or just adding noise?

  • If a dream client landed on my Instagram or homepage today… would they feel something?

If the answer is no to any of these, then this is your cue to pause, assess and realign.

I really love this headline.

Real growth happens when your brand evolves with you.
That doesn’t mean burning everything down.
It means building smarter. Showing up more you. Reconnecting with your purpose and your people.

Ready to future-proof your brand?
I created a free 2026 Reset Guidebook to help you start that process.
You’ll get clarity on what’s no longer working and a practical framework to realign your brand, offers and systems for where you’re going next.
