The Center for Truth in Science Has a New Home—and a New Partner

If you’ve been following the Center for Truth in Science, you may have noticed something big happened on April 1st. We joined forces with TERA—the Toxicology Excellence for Risk Assessment—to form a single, stronger organization dedicated to one thing: making sure science is used honestly, in courtrooms, in policy, and in everyday life.

We’re still doing everything you followed us for. What’s changed is that we now have more expertise, more reach, and a new home for our work: this Substack.

What you’ll get here

You’ve probably seen a headline recently that made you wonder: should I actually be worried about this? Is that chemical in my food dangerous? Did that study really prove what they’re saying it proved? Is the science on this actually settled?

Most of the time, the honest answer is: it’s complicated—and the coverage isn’t helping.

Every Thursday, we’ll help you cut through the noise on science, risk, and evidence. Not to tell you what to think—but to give you the tools to think it through yourself:

• When a headline says something “causes cancer,” we’ll explain what that claim actually requires—and whether this one clears the bar

• When a chemical shows up in the news, we’ll tell you what the evidence actually shows about exposure and risk

• When science gets used in courtrooms or regulation, we’ll examine whether it was strong enough to support the decisions it drove

The thread running through all of it: science is only as good as the honesty with which it’s applied. A study can be real and still be misrepresented. An expert can be credentialed and still be wrong. These distinctions have real consequences—and most coverage ignores them entirely.
