The Tech Savvy Crocheter · The Tech Savvy Crocheter

The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines “suspended” as "to stop something for a short time, to hang something from above, or to keep someone away from a job or school as a rule penalty. It shows that an action is not finished forever, but it is put on hold right now.”

I think I’ve self-suspended recently. For some reason, I just have not been motivated to do anything — not write, not explore new AI frontiers, not organize stuff, nothing. I have been trying to eat better and exercise, and we have done some traveling, but other than going to the day job, I come home, eat some dinner, watch some TV (confession: we’re avid Big Brother fans and have been watching since Season 1!), and go to bed. Maybe it’s because we’re in the lazy, hazy days of summer (my favorite season, but not one that inspires knitting or crochet), and work has been busy enough to take my concentration and energy. Frankly, I’m kind of just going with it.

The Catch-22 is that, if I would concentrate on figuring out how to automate more of my side gig business and some personal things too, I could free up time to truly enjoy myself, without guilt. A worthwhile endeavor in my opinion (wasn’t that the promise of technology?! More leisure time, less stress?!). I know it’ll come back to me, the motivation and drive to learn and grow, but in the meantime, I’m not going to beat myself up about it (at least not too much).

Are you feeling the summertime drag? How are you coping/overcoming?? Please share :-)
