In my last newsletter I wrote about Google Advanced Search looking differently and how it had an effect on the search operators inurl: and site:
For now it seems like it’s back to normal again.
The only problems that I’ve run into so far is that it doesn’t work properly when search TikTok. So, site:tiktok.com instead of inurl:tiktok.com, gave me better results. My advice for now would be to keep trying both to see which one works best for you :)!
Recently my colleague discovered the extra information that is shown when you click on a display name of a Facebook profile. For example, it shows the date when the profile was last active, but also when the profile was created.
The profile creation date was first only shown in the Facebook Marketplace profile (facebook.com/marketplace/profile/IDnumberHere). But now you only seem to see the creation year there, instead of the exact date.
If you’re looking for the exact date, make sure to check out the display name instead of the Marketplace profile!
Instagram has changed the way their search is appearing. Instead of having a left-side menu that would pop out, when you now select the search icon on their website a new windows opens where the search bar is in the centre of the page.
Downside is that it’s still letting you see only 5 results at a time… Even changing your responsive modus to a smartphone (using the web developer tools in your browser), won’t solve that issue unfortunately.
Instagram announced they give users the option to rearrange their feed. That means that posts won’t always be in a chronological order anymore. Especially when you have a larges feed to go through, it’s helpful to see in the blink of an eye which posts were posted on what date.
Well, there is a tool for that! It’s called a bookmarklet and the are created but my friend Micah Hoffman.
By installing the Instagram User Profile Post Date Revealer, you can let the grid load and see immediately which posts are posted when:

I love a good podcast. Especially when there is a good true crime story that is being told.
Hunting Warhead sounds like a podcast on warfare, but it’s about the take down of a dark web child abuse forum. In this podcast you get an insight of the work that two journalists did before they did an amazing discovery. Definitely worth listening!
They now just released a new story, so I’m looking forward to listen to their story called ‘Hunting the suicide salesman’.

In this Netflix documentary the story of three teens, who were involved in a deadly car crash, is being shared.
What is interesting is that a lot of social media posts are used to tell the story about the crash. And what I personally found interesting is the way Law Enforcement looked at the posts versus how the teen that posted them look at them. They both believe the pictures tell different stories.
I think it’s always good to keep a broad perspective when it comes to interpretation of online content, especially when the content is created by an age group not close to your own.
