2 Hour class on Manifestation - An Activation Ritual for you! It will be recorded if you cannot join live!

Good morning. I’m on my way to the gym for an early morning swim before my 9 o’clock private coaching calls, and I’m thinking about you and me and us and these wild times, so let’s take a ride (I am literally in my car)

I want to tell you that this is no time to stop working on what it is that you want to create in your life. This is not a time to give up on a practice of manifestation toward what really matters to you. This is not a good time to lose your prowess around being a co-creator with all of creation.

Sometimes when it feels like things are coming apart, or you’re in the eye of a storm — your own, that reflects the greater world’s eye of the storm — we who are activists, and who love, and who care about water and children and people and plants and animals and just the overall state of the world, can end up abandoning what matters to us and go all in on the way that we are choosing to serve. Or we get taken down and out because the collective stress impacts our nervous system so much that we go into a beta state of survival and kind of get stuck there. Like, who are we to create beauty — paintings, a voyage de rêve to Paris? Who are we to just dedicate life force to creating what matters to us in our lives and make a contribution to the world around us?

And this is a normative response from women when we are overwhelmed, and when we feel like our heart is breaking open, and when we feel overwhelmed by causes that we’ve worked for our whole lives coming undone before our eyes.

Yet I’m here to tell you today, to be one of the people in your life who tells you not to abandon yourself. Not because you’re selfish and distracted. Not because how could you focus on your own abundance when other people are hurting. Look, women are co-creators with all of creation, and we must continue to co-create. That is the power that we have. We don’t have the kinds of power that we wish we did. Yes, one first person can influence an enormous amount of change. But right now, besides posting and calling governors and heads of state and signing petitions, which many of us have been doing, we have very little impact over who puts their name on an airport. We just aren’t operating in the kind of democracy that we once dreamed that we were. We didn’t put stops in place for maniacs. We’ve had some uncouth leadership in many nations in the world, but we see ourselves now, especially those of us in the United States, in a continual state of bafflement of what can only be seen to me as a male cat continuing to spray his territory.

But that is no time to stop creating what matters to you. In fact, it is more essential than we can possibly imagine. Since we don’t have control over the outcomes — although of course we vote and rally and call and email and sign, we do all that still, and post and share and write — we can’t be so consumed with that that we neglect the creation of our own abundance. Because it is very easy right now to fall into hopelessness, and also fall behind in the kinds of manifestation that make it so that we can be more sure about food, shelter, water, influence, and self-expression.

Self-expression in our community is not just a survival and nervous system regulation tactic — although it does that too. It is very specifically a creative spiritual practice that makes it so that we can continue to show up for what matters.

So I’m doubling down on a couple things. One: the continuation of circles, so that we can be in a collective field of togetherness. Circles. And two: continuing to support us in manifestation.

Yes, the things that we cannot change are weighing on us. But one of the greatest influences we have is our power to approach the kind of day we want to have, because the day is just going to happen - we get to design how we show up and keep on designing it. The traffic’s just going to be there. The news is just going to be there. The sh*t’s still going to keep hitting the fan. But your approach to it — that’s where your power is.

It is so absolutely essential for you to understand the kind of power you have. Alice Walker says the surest way we give away our power is by assuming that we don’t have any. I don’t know if that’s the direct quote, because I’m in the car right now, but you get the idea.

So I want to invite our community to continue to operate in a space of having power by choosing how we’re going to design our days. Choosing intentional chemistry. That’s why I’ve just landed at the gym for my swim — what I call the spa. And I wear my white robe and I bring my own towels and my own shampoo, and I make it a sacrament. This is not an indulgence. This is a necessity for my health. But it’s also how I begin my day being a co-creator with all of creation.

So I’m inviting you to join us in our community today. There are so many ways for you to continue to play and engage and be a part. Not just a part of the solution, but a part of the joy and the pleasure. Because I’m telling you right now, we’re going to need to practice pleasure and manifestation right alongside everything else that’s happening.

My grandma Eden, on my mother’s side, used to say things like, “We’re going to hell in a handbasket.” I wonder what that really means. But as these things move around us, how will we move around and with them? How will we not be taken in and taken down by all the bad news? We can become accountable for creating the good news.

I know it isn’t easy. I know we don’t feel, sometimes, the motivation in our body. I don’t ask myself if I want to swim. I book the appointment the day before — which you have to do at my gym — but it makes it so that I set my alarm. I don’t ask myself if I feel like painting. I just show up and I paint. You know, when I have a client appointment early, I have to design my whole morning around that. Why wouldn’t we do that around exercise and food and self-expression and self-care and pleasure?

You’re going to have to book it, baby. You’re going to have to book the pleasure in. You’re going to have to book in time to continue to choose how you’re going to manifest, how you’re going to be a co-creator with what matters to you.

I’ve worked in the field of manifestation and abundance teachings really for over 30 years. I have a very specific and unique way of doing it, and I love to teach it to you. And you can just bring it in. It doesn’t conflict with any of the other teachings that you’re holding. Mostly it’s about how we choose to hold ourselves and our bodies and our brains, using self-expression to get closer to the chemistry change. Because really it’s not just mood that keeps us from the sacred practices. It’s actually how our body feels. And that chemistry piece is so challenging. But here’s the thing: if you just get into the self-expression, the state change starts to happen, and the chemistry starts to shift. It’s sometimes hard to convince ourselves that that’s going to happen. But I’m telling you, when you come to circle, when you show up to the page and the dance floor and the canvas, the shift starts to happen.

So let’s continue in a good way together. There are several ways to create with me in this week, including to focus on self-expression and abundance. This is Curate Shiloh Sophia for Tea with the Muse, and I will see you in circle.
