This week I’ve been thinking about...home, and how we find ours.

It’s been well over ten years since I was on my way home from New Smyrna Beach, Florida, and suddenly had the story of Jude, Logan, and the rest of the Posse download into my brain—and my heart.

Crystal Cove became a second home to me. I didn’t realize how long I would stay or how often I’d visit.

Actually, after I released Jude’s story, The Posse, I wrote her daughter’s book (The Last One) which is set in Burton, Georgia. It took me several years to return to the Cove to share Emmy’s story in The Plan.

Emmy and Cooper—whoooo boy. Now that was a hot story to write! I had a blast telling their tumultuous journey to happily ever after.

We met both Emmy and Cooper in The Posse. Emmy is the intrepid single-mom-pie-baker who runs Jude’s restaurant in the evenings. Cooper is the member of the Posse who’s been married twice and doesn’t care to make it a trifecta, thank you very much! One night, curiosity and loneliness gets the best of them, and they indulge in a one-night stand.

Well, it’s meant to be one night, but of course, it isn’t. No matter how smart the two of them try to be, they are drawn to each other . . . again and again.

Cooper is stubborn, and Emmy is determined, and it seems as though they’re going to let each other get away, despite the best efforts of their very observant friends.

But their ending—which of course is just their beginning—is one of my absolute favorites. It’s no surprise that this couple is a HUGE reader favorite.

Ah. I think I’m going to do a quick re-read just let myself feel that happy sigh ending again.

These two find their home in each other’s hearts.

And it’s a sweet discovery.

Well, friends, I guess we have to get started on our day.
