The Cold Read: Cover Reveal

Hey there,

Yesterday, we hit the six-month countdown to the release of The Cold Read, my fourth suspense novel. It will be released on November 10, 2026. I’m really excited about this one, guys. It’s got so many of my favorite things—cult horror movies, a mysterious disappearance, abandoned creepy places (in this case, a ski resort), famous rich people acting badly, and even a big fat orange cat.

This is my favorite part of the writing process. By which I mean, all the writing is done. And we get to the fun stuff. Like picking out audiobook narrators. Writing book club questions. Choosing the perfect book playlist. Creating ridiculous swag to go along with the book that no one else cares about but makes me happy. And the best, of course….

Revealing the COVER!

There’s so much I love about this cover. It nods to all the right elements in the book—the ski lift, the intimidating mountain, the filmstrips. I love how the film sits slightly askew, suggesting that everything’s a little off here. And the deep pink color of the font is a fun pop.

In the coming months, I’ll tell you more about the inspirations behind the book and my own obsession with horror movies. I’ll tell you all about the movie that’s at the root of The Cold Read and the mysterious disappearance of one of the cast members that helped make the movie skyrocket to cult fame.

I just finished The Pastor’s Wife by LynDee Walker, and whoa, guys. This book took a lot of dark turns I didn’t see coming, and just when I thought I figured it out, I was surprised again. And if you read it and love it, you can continue to follow some of the characters in her next novel, The Housewife Next Door.

Any house plant lovers out there? I’ve become a little obsessed with my plant friends, and I especially enjoy growing things from seed. Sharing some of my babies here—my desert rose bonsai that I grew from seed is finally (fingers crossed) showing some buds that I hope will bloom! And those little green sprouts are hopefully going to turn into very big monstera deliciosa plants eventually. What are your favorite plants?
