May 18: Film Screening: ‘Le Règne Animal’, 5:30 pm onwards, free entry, collaboration with Alliance Française Katmandou

May 24: Doodling at Taragaon, all day, entry fee applies

May 29 - 31: ‘LONG LIVE POP ART’, exhibition by Reyan Tamang, free entry on opening day, 5 pm onwards

Supported by the Saraf Foundation, ‘Forms of Abstraction’ presents a current overview of abstract art practices in Nepal, featuring over 26 living Nepali artists who have been continuously engaged in abstraction across themes such as motion, emotion, nature, architecture, geometry and culture.

The Taragaon Treasure Hunt is an educational and interactive activity that encourages participants to closely observe and appreciate the intricate details of exhibitions—details often missed during casual visits. The primary goal is to foster deeper engagement with the exhibited works but knowing the architecture of our building and space, while enhancing visual memory, attention to detail, and collaborative problem-solving skills.

Community Musicking is back! No prior experience needed, just show up with the intention of making music and sparking joy!

Instruments will be provided but participants are encouraged to explore making sound with their own bodies, whether it’s singing, clapping or stomping!

Join us every Tuesday to get a tour of our current exhibition, Forms of Abstraction.

You will be guided through our gallery spaces as we describe the curator, Roshan Mishra’s, approach for the exhibition as well as a brief introduction of each artist and the works that are on exhibit. You will be able to gain insight into the artists’ process, their idea behind a particular artwork and how it ties into the full exhibition.

Join us every Wednesday starting at 3 pm, to crochet or knit, or do any fiber arts with us! Led by Taragaon’s staff, Diki and Nirdishtha, join our small community as we explore different fiber arts together.

Bring your own supplies or use some that we have and we can learn from each other.

Shabdakiri Saajh is an open literary platform dedicated to celebrating stories, poetry, and emerging voices, every evening on the first Saturday of every Nepali month at 4 p.m. This is their 2 year anniversary!

Free entry! Please note that participants and viewers will only be allowed to enter after 3:30 pm.

A recent film that really captures a new wave of French genre cinema, mixing realism with fantasy. It follows a father and his teenage son searching for the missing mother after people start turning into animal-human hybrids, forcing them to confront fear, change, and what it means to be human.

Reyan Tamang is a contemporary artist born and based in Kathmandu, Nepal. Primarily working with Acrylic paint on wood, he creates visually vaptivating and unique aesthetic that explores themes of perspectives and “point of view,“ derived and inspired from various human experiences and interests.
