Dear all
I hope you are well. Spring is in the air and the days are inching along. I will soon be painting in daylight on waking. How wonderful.
This will be a short note, as I’ve left myself little time for waffling, but I wanted to send you some direct links to the things I know so many of you like or might be intrigued to see.
We have a fabulous new batch of vintage tins filled with handmade watercolour paints. This time they have been arranged in harmonious colour palettes: Analogous, complimentary, triadic and so on.

I am releasing three new colours this month: Transparent Red Oxide, Transparent Yellow Oxide and Indanthrone Blue. I am calling them an ‘earthy’ primary triad. If you think they look atypically dull (for me), you should know that they are mainly intended for mixing (though the blue is a glorious standalone colour.) They knock the brashness of some of my zingier colours and create cohesion when added sparingly to a palette that risks clashing. The oxides are gently granulating, which makes them fun for paint-watching (think, cloud-watching and people-watching.)
They come as a set of three earthy primaries, either in a vintage tin or alone, to be added to your own tin.
I also have three new ratioed thumbnail grid books: Yellow/pink, Green/white and Cream/brown. They are all printed with the same range of pre-drawn frames, in sizes and proportions that match apertures in both my Bookmark Viewfinders and Viewfinder Clipboards.
And the handy dimpled white-glazed stoneware palettes I love so much are back in stock.
Finally, I have two newly curated tin-free collections: Watching Paint Dry, designed to give you halos and granulation, and Just too Gorgeous, which was made for the Sellotape tin, but too gorgeous not to be repeated as a tin-free option. Both are larger than previous sets, so would work as a starting point if you are new to painting and want a colour palette recommended by me.
That’s all folks. Oh, except that I have a few places remaining on two upcoming in-person courses: Mindful Watercolour in April, and Make and Use Watercolour in May.
