We are quickly approaching the date it all happens: The inaugural meeting of the newly-formed PGH UFO Club, the PGH UFO Conference & Book Sale. While mentioned previously in Cystic Detective Update #13, this is my final announcement to readers who may need to clear their schedule or work out transportation. The event is sure to be a thought-provoking gathering. Come for the UFO books on sale, but stay for the readings of UFO-related work from me and others! Hosted on the premises of Fungus Books & Records, a Pittsburgh staple, it is the perfect opportunity to meet like-minded weirdos or take me to task for my cantankerous UFO blathering. It goes from noon to around 4pm on Saturday, June 13th—a bring your own chair affair. If you’re following Fungus Books & Records on Instagram, you can get a heads up on the insane selection of UFO books at their disposal (some that make this writer froth like Homer Simpson at a Duff). You also have the opportunity to rep this burgeoning club with a t-shirt designed by Pittsburgh legend Bill Nace:

2 pm: Tanner Boyle (@gettingspooked) on UFOs and American politics
3 pm: a reading from UFO poets Ed Steck and Courtney Bush (“Intelligent Process” chapbook release!!)

If you’re a fan of Getting Spooked, drop by and help me get through my stage fright and present a brand new piece of writing. Even if you cannot attend, I highly recommend you start keeping tabs on the speakers and organizers as they are all doing top-of-the-line work in UFO writing, research, and art. These include Timothy Grieve-Carlson (also on Substack at Never More Real) and the aforementioned Dani Lamorte (also on Substack at Groundcherry), Ed Steck, and Courtney Bush. I also hope to publish a version of the talk over here on Getting Spooked, my home base, as well, so stay tuned.
