Happy Friday! It has gotten chillier here and I’m absolutely loving it. This whole week I have been wearing a big sweatshirt and biker shorts (you know, Princess Diana style) and just thinking about being able to wear cooler weather outfits makes me giddy. I also like that mornings are getting darker. My office lighting makes it a cozy retreat and a great way to ease into the day.
As you may have noticed, I haven’t written much besides my weekly wraps. I’ve turned my focus to the blog to update some recipes and my capacity for writing is not very big these days. I do have several posts in mind that I will hopefully publish soon. Here are some spoilers: my cookware conversion to all stainless steel, my top fragrances, and non-negotiable morning routines.
Do I have kids? No. Did I still preorder this? Ofc. Unfortunately preorders are sold out. I’m so glad I was able to snag one!
I got my hair done last week and since then I’ve been doing a random deep dive into haircare. Like, I’ve always had decent hair care but I wanted something more. It lead me to discover Abbey Yung and her hair care routine and tips. After A LOT of reading, I realized while I can take some tips from her, for the most part, my hair is not like white people hair. It’s Asian hair and I need products that are for my hair. However, I will say the one tip I took away from her with the coconut oil 20-30 minutes before washing your hair has really made my hair really soft and silky. Let me know if you want me to deep dive here on what I do with my hair.
I don’t know if it’s my OCD and the compulsion to ‘know everything’ but I’m doing so many deep dives lately on Reddit on various topics and I just feel I’m learning so much, lol…it’s making me realize that the education system in America is REALLY bad. We don’t teach a lot of real life things to…help you with life. Financial literacy (if it weren’t for my parents, I’d have zero knowledge), political literacy, and a bunch of other things. I’m also sad we have so much propaganda against other countries. I honestly don’t think we are any better than any other country at this point. We have made ourselves seem like the greatest and best while projecting propaganda that other countries are horrible, yet now we are all finding out that’s not the case. I’m rambling, but often times, when I visit other countries, I’m like omg it’s so beautiful! I don’t know what people are talking about! And that’s where you find out the disconnect.
Are there pieces of jewelry that you want to collect over time? Like classic and timeless jewelry that you can dress up and down and also comfortable enough to wear every day? For me, my ultimate collection is: diamond stud earrings, diamond solitaire necklace, and a diamond tennis bracelet. Obviously these aren’t small purchases so they’ll take time, but over the years, I have been able to do a lot of research and get the pieces that will last past me. I bought my diamond solitaire necklace two years ago during a Black Friday sale with one of my favorite jewelers. I wear that necklace nearly every single day. It’s one of those pieces that you literally can dress up or down and it’s a simple, minimalistic piece with sparkle.
More recently, I have been keeping my eye out for diamond stud earrings and last week, I stumbled upon an online auction site for estate sales. I was the winning bid for a pair of earrings (yes, did all my deep dive research on it) and I was very eager to receive them. They were delivered on Wednesday and it blew my expectations. Like, I thought they would be used or something (which I was 100% fine with) but to my surprise, it was brand new. I’m still in shock that I was able to score this quality for a FRACTION of the price of what you would get at any jeweler. I scored 2cttw diamond stud earrings for $525. The ratings on the diamonds are what you would call “near flawless” and I’m just so thrilled to add to my collection. They show you authentic paperwork reports from the GIA/IGI and you can look up the report numbers before purchasing to make sure they’re real. The paperwork is mailed along with your purchase.
If you have a Chick-Fil-A near you, you have to try their new pretzel bun with the spicy filet. I got it yesterday for lunch and it is SO good. Honestly, I want it again for lunch lol
