Fall sports for both Benson and Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg held their first official practices Aug. 17 and are hard at work to get into shape before the start of their seasons. The girls Benson/KMS tennis team will be the first to start competition, with a meet in Long Prairie Aug. 25. The KMS volleyball team gets their season started Aug. 28 on the road at the Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted Invite. The KMS/Benson cross country team starts their year off on the road in Staples Aug. 31. The Benson volleyball team’s first game of the year will be at home against Dawson-Boyd Sept. 3. KMS football opens Sept. 3 at home against Paynesville and the Braves football team’s opener will be on the road against Breckenridge.
