What’s the Opposite of Enshitification?

My existential crises are getting weirder. Good for me. Laughing at my own jokes is my latest hobby. 🎶 Just sit right back...

The following is an example of my free range mind. It wanders, but always returns home at night. Like all good livestock.

I woke up sad again. I keep waking up. I keep disappointing myself by ignoring the mounds of paper, costume pieces, and detritus. Debris of a life.

When I get around to it I will rewrite “When I Am An Old Woman I Shall Wear Purple.” It’s gonna be dark.

Fathoms below, my heart is tired. Tired of hoping that I have evolved enough to live on dry land.

What the hell am I now? Amphibian. I see a Rainbow Connection. I see Iris. The rainbow.

Then I panic. I can’t breathe on land. I forgot how. Please help me, Jesus, Angels, Ancestors, Spirit Guides, Spirit Team. Please help me rest in peace. Hopefully not dead, just resting in a life that doesn’t disappoint me. I am all I have. I have now.

Who would care if I died? Lots of people, however, apparently none I gave birth to. Weird. I am not dying, but I’m not living either. I must do the thing I cannot do. Move forward.

I’m shaky. Maybe I need to eat. Why? Why do I do anything to sustain this existence? Because that’s all I have. This life.

Rick Wilson wrote an article titled Trump and American Enshitification. “Every institution you interact with has quietly discovered that it can degrade the thing it sells you and lose almost nothing, because where exactly are you going to go?” He credits Cory Doctorow with naming this process enshittification.

I really dislike this downfall of democracy. It’s quite unpleasant. I wasn’t really looking forward to aging, but aging during the fall of America adds a whole ‘nuther level.

Is this entertaining?

What’s the opposite of that enshitification? Inquiring minds want to know. Ok, it’s just me.

I think it’s beautification. I’m determined to beautify everywhere I go. Even if my efforts are invisible.
