The heat was on in Sevilla! But the pool was open and now we are enjoying the cooler evenings in Colorado. Since June was so busy, I have been thinking a lot about both the need to rest and the power of taking breaks.
When we first transition to longer travel, it’s easy to treat it like a vacation and go-go-go. But burnout extinguishes even the most enthusiastic traveling family at some point.
Slowing our pace down helps make this lifestyle sustainable for us. We can focus on our kids, their learning needs, our work and each other.

Housesitting in Ireland
Despite being new to housesitting, Chad and his family secured an awesome housesit via Trusted Housesitters to a remote home in Ireland, complete with two cute dogs.
This provided the family space to spread out and a routine to reset after a period of fast travel.
Chad’s advice if you’re interested in house-sitting?
“Craft a professional email to the host family and make sure you tell them why you are so excited to take care of their pets!”
