Not many movies stand the test of time, in my opinion, but this one sure does.
Whenever I’m the least bit down, I watch it, and I’m better.
My mother felt that way about it, all three of my children feel that way, and my grandchildren do, too. That’s a 75-year age range — talk about a broad audience!
These ‘inconceivable’ scenes crack me up.
I thank all that is holy that this movie exists because I haven’t ever experienced this level of jaw-dropped awe (and not the good kind) when I look out at the world.
It’s inconceivable (to me) what’s going on out there in America right now. 😳
Trump is…well, Trump. JD Vance says (among other things) he thinks this far-right blogger named Curtis Yarvin is a source of great ideas, including Yarvin’s call to ‘retire all government employees’, ‘delete the US government’, and for America to ‘get over its dictator phobia.’
Yeah…NO.
I guess every generation has its turn to grapple with insanity, and this is mine.
I’ve been reading a lot of political history here lately, and it both freaks me out and calms me.
It freaks me out because I see more clearly how we got here, and it calms me because we’ve (so far) survived it all.
As much as I hate what’s happening, I realize it’s exposing vulnerabilities we need to address in this country. We haven’t learned our lessons, so they continue to present themselves.
They’ll continue until “we the people” stop giving in to overwhelm and apathy and get involved. And that’s a hard sell when it takes all your energy and attention to get from one day to the next in one piece.
I wish the election were tomorrow.
