Accounting is one of the largest professional services industries in the world—yet, one of the least transformed by software.

Despite being a $250B market in the U.S. alone, accounting has remained stubbornly manual. Firms still rely on legacy research databases, disconnected tools, and thousands of hours of highly-trained human effort to process an ever-changing maze of tax code. At the same time, the industry is facing a generational labor shortage: over 300,000 accountants have left the profession in the last four years, and new talent isn’t coming in fast enough to replace them.

The math doesn’t work.

That’s why we’re thrilled to co-lead the $9 million seed round of Marble.

Marble is building AI-native infrastructure for tax professionals—starting with research, and expanding into agentic systems that help firms analyze compliance, deliver strategy, and eventually automate entire workflows. Their first product, a free research tool that turns dense government documents into clear, citation-backed answers, is already earning trust across the industry. And it’s just the beginning.

We’ve known Bhavin from his time as an exec in the Susa portfolio. His references were the strongest we’ve ever seen for a CTO. Not only is he technical, he ended up running large parts of the commercial side of the business with impressive results. Geordie is impressive in his own right, having started and scaled multiple businesses to over $100m in revenue.

What excites us most about Marble isn’t just the market size, or even the obvious application of LLMs to structured, text-heavy work. It’s that the problem is hard, and the opportunity is massive. Tax is one of the most complex rule systems humans have created—and also one of the most expensive to maintain.
