After leaving Addidat, I took the opportunity to travel to Vancouver to visit my friend from school. It's quite a rare opportunity to spend so many days with a friend at this stage of life, and we really took advantage. We spent time going around the city and travelling a bit further out to see some of the natural beauty of British Columbia. <PhotoGallery images={[ { alt: "", formats: ["webp"],…
Jack Conte, the founder & CEO of Patreon and half of the musical duo Pomplamoose, just gave a keynote about his take on AI, comparing decades-old responses to new technologies with the new technology of today. <YouTubeVideo url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17_HcR95YBc" title="Why I'm (sort of) not worried about AI" caption="Why I'm (sort of) not worried about AI - Jack Conte" /> It’s a…
Some pics of our trip to Puglia. We went for a friend's wedding but stayed a few days either side to visit the beautiful towns of Monopoli, Polignano a Mare, Alberobello, Matera, Gravina in Puglia, Lecce, Ostuni, and some other little towns. <PhotoGallery images={[ { alt: "", formats: ["webp"], fullResolution: true, height: 2955, id: "posts/2026-05-21-puglia/3b5c6fd3-aec7-4204-83d8-08ad00985011",…
Really fun movie, although I wish that I hadn't seen Interstellar so recently. PHM is good but not on that same level. Bonus: I didn't have to see Arsenal lose against City. Swings and roundabouts
As per my last post , I'm working on a little project called skejj . The idea came about when making a roast dinner. It's a very easy meal to make in practice, but you have to get timings right so that everything comes out hot at the same time. For Christmas a few years back I made a Gantt chart in my notebook mapping out when to do certain tasks and it was incredibly useful to separate all the…
I recently re-remembered tinyprojects.dev and it has inspired me to actually go and whittle down my own list of project ideas. There are some things I've started in the past and there's some that I have no idea how to bring to life. My aim is to increase my output and to learn. I mainly learn by doing and do my hope is that as I work on more and more of these projects, I can get better for future,…

Incorporating a confluence of different cultures and languages, our code is hand-crafted, wrought through pull requests, processed on baremetal and roasted to perfection in a cast-iron CI/CD pipeline - giving you a bold, full-bodied, rich shot of open-source goodness. In chronological order, we visited Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha and the Masai Mara. Finally, we ended with some chilled resort vibes in Zanzibar. <PhotoGallery images={[ { alt: "", formats: ["webp", "jpeg"], fullResolution: true, height: 4128, id: "posts/2025-10-03-honeymoon-in-kenya-zanzibar/16d1d954-68c7-4094-a812-aa96117f90e9", width: 6192, }, { alt: "", formats: ["webp", "jpeg"], fullResolution:…
Have fun in Vancouver. We'll miss you more than we let on. I wanted to write something for you actually. Ever sicne we were young, the things we knew rarely overlapped. I think this is one of the main reasons we got on so well. We're both annoyingly curious and will match someone's passion when they're talking about something they're interested in. This has led to hours and hours of us talking and…
Before his big move to Vancouver, I wanted to spend some time with my oldest friend. He lives in a converted hospital in Woolwich and just 5 minutes up the road is Severndroog Castle, which has one of the most incredible views over London that I've ever seen. Highly recommend to anyone who happens to go out that way.
