Hey,
happy first day of summer. Reporting live from my couch under the AC, as we brave the first heatwave of the season. I wanted to go to the farmer’s market to see how it’s going during this time, but I didn’t make it, oops.
Every time the heat hits I feel very uninspired in the kitchen, so I’ve been eating a lot of sandwiches. Which are a perfect food. One thing I like to include is some sort of spread. At the very least it’s mayo, but if that’s not for you or if you need a new idea… try my parsley hummus!
It’s lighter than regular hummus, because I’m using less tahini. The flavors are focused on chickpeas, parsley and lemon. So it’s fresh, vibrant, earthy, green.
I love it as a dip. I love it in a sandwich, with cheese, pickles and tomatoes. Pickles + hummus + cheese is a queen combo and I need you to try it.
You can find the full parsley hummus recipe with additional tips on my website. LMK if you have any questions. <3
I don’t know if it’s a thing of getting older or if I’m just overstimulated by the online world, diss tracks, chart fights, n-th variant versions of the same albums, etc. But I find myself reaching for albums of my childhood/ tween/ teen years. I play them whole, on repeat, like if I had a CD (which I have somewhere), as I hibernate in my bubble. It’s honestly very comforting.
My recent rediscovery is Hotel Paper by Michelle Branch. Love the visuals, the songs, the Alanis vibe, the duet with Sheryl Crow.
I wanted to recommend some books, but so far I’ve only downloaded them to my Kindle as I get ready for our July holiday. So hopefully I find myself reading by a beach in the near future and once we come back I have some things to report.
Happy, almost, weekend!
xo, Alice
