Punters are invited to raise a glass and bask in the sun as a popular beer festival opens for its 34th year.
Featuring more than 250 beers and 100 ciders, liver music and more, the East Anglian Beer & Cider Festival opened its doors at St Edmundsbury Cathedral, Bury St Edmunds, this afternoon.
It will continue to welcome drinkers until Monday.
Paul Cooper, organiser, hoped the festival would help attendees to push their boundaries and try beer they would never have considered otherwise.
He said: “We hope everybody has a good time.
“Our aim is to support our charity partners and good causes, the entire festival is manned by charity volunteers and want to reward them for their charity. It takes about 350 people to staff the festival over the six days.
“We want festival weather – not too hot and not too cold and the forecast looks hopeful.
“Advance bookings have been high this year and we hope for a bumper year. The cheapest way people can buy tickets is online.”
The festival runs until 11pm today and returns tomorrow from noon to 11pm.
It returns on Friday from noon to 11.30pm, Saturday from 11.30am to 11pm, Sunday from 12.30pm to 9pm and Monday from noon to 6pm.
The event has been organised by the West Suffolk & Borders branch of CAMRA.
This is its sixth year at St Edmundsbury Cathedral.
It has also raised more than £175,000 for charitable causes.
New this year is The Music Bar, which features 24 cask ales, with each beer either paired with a track or named in honour of a musician, band or musical moment.
