The “credit card” target zone in many target systems is too small and likely intended to artificially make the shots harder and thus discourage them.
I use a five inch circle that includes the cranial ocular cavity and extends downward toward the Maxilla. The nasal cavity and the maxilla will not withstand a direct frontal gunshot.
From zero degrees facing you we aim for the bridge of the nose. From ninety and two-seventy degrees we aim for the ear canal. From one hundred eighty degrees we aim for the spot where the head connects to the neck. If we are within a radius around those areas we will get want we seek. Like flipping off a light switch.
