Dear Designer,
This has been sitting on my heart for a long time.
For years, I’ve had this idea in the back of my mind… to create a space where I could share what I’ve learned through Studio Dukesa — not just the branding and design side of things, but the business, the growth, the mindset shifts. The real stuff. The stuff no one teaches you when you start out.
And then the beginning of 2025, life really shifted for me. My husband started a new chapter in his career, and at the same time, my mom was in the hospital. Everything felt like it was changing all at once. I found myself stretched in every direction. Trying to hold it all, and realizing I just couldn’t.
So I stepped back. I stopped taking on client work. I focused on my family and my own well-being. I cried. I rested. I healed. And in the quiet, I realized how thankful I was for the business I had built. Studio Dukesa held me through it all. It gave me space. It gave me options. It reminded me of the dreams I had set aside for “later.”
And I think this is that later.
This is Dear Designer. A new chapter.
This is where I’ll share the behind-the-scenes of how I built my business, what I’ve learned, what I would do differently, and what I wish every designer knew. I’m not saying I’ll never take on 1:1 work again… but I’m following a new pull. Something that’s been simmering in the background for years. Something that feels a little scary, but also really right.
So thank you for being here.
This is for the designer in the middle of it. Building something beautiful, figuring it out as they go, wanting more freedom, more clarity, more joy in the work.
Welcome. I’m so glad you’re here.
P.S. If there’s a question on your heart or a topic you’d love for me to write about, I’d love to hear it! Just reply and let me know. This space is for you, too.
