Brewer Steve, BBQ Ninja CJ, Bar Owner Cole, and...Bob finish off the second half of Episode 78 with some inspiration for a future taste and a goodbye to another.

In this episode, Chris Knapp, Chris Smith, Glenn Crim, Jorge Oseguera, and barbecuing, birthday-party ninja, Kyle Sandate talk about all the “B’s” in life: Bubonic plague, black beer, bad decisions, B as a middle initial, baldness, Brontosauruses, butt throat, Seven Brides For Seven Brothers, Fat Back, badly-damaged eight-finger golf, big brains, bimbos, bumpers, bad-ass Stoutcast Stickers…and…
Welcome to Season 9!!! The final four of our bracket: Bob Moffitt, CJ Henderson of Smokin’ Oak BBQ, Cole Sjostrom of The Alley, and Steve Aitchison of Twisted Cedar in the center court of stouts: Mariposa, CA. That’s right, four award-winning, stud, number-one seeds gather on the court to take on seven…count ‘em…seven stouts as the basketball brackets go up in flames around them. God, who wrote…
Bob Moffitt and Brewcaipa head brewer, Hunter Gagne, throw caution to the high desert in California and try several offerings, a couple of which just might make the Stoutcast Best-of List. The boys also talk the issue of availability, industry health, and throw metaphorical hands over whether a golden stout is actually a stout. Get ready to road trip! These kids are available on-site only. Go…

Ho, Ho, Ho! That would describe Chris Knapp, Chris Smith, and Glenn Crim. Bob Moffitt and Bridger Smith are not like the naughty three. Those two play the roles of Santa’s angelic elves in this holiday edition, in which Santa gets hopped up on coffee before delivering the Christmas goods. Lots of pop culture in this stocking.

Craft Wine and Beer in Reno, NV hosts Bob Moffitt, Chris Knapp, and Stoutcast newbie Chris Smith (ROOK!) for a 36th anniversary trip down memory lane and the Pack Midtown event. This is an annual event involving the Reynolds School of Journalism and other colleges at the Harvard of the West. Nooo, not that one. No, not that one, either. It’s the University of Nevada-Reno, people. C’mon!!!
Mead makes its merry way into the episode, though we don't drink any. Hash tag sad face. A terrific flight though and wonderful can art. Head to Mariposa to Twisted Cedar and tell Steve what stouts he should be carrying!
The boys (Glenn Crim, Chris Knapp, and Bob Moffitt) go down the coast of Oregon metaphorically for this episode, understand what it tastes like to lick a pirate, free O.J., get boneless wings (not real wings!), debate the merits of Applebee’s, mix beers together to see if they might be salvaged. Thanks to Bottles and Cans in North Portland for carrying a solid collection of stouts.
Sometimes, recording an episode is not as easy as it sounds.

On a day only Hades could love, Bob, Matt, and Trace trudge across the Sacramento desert looking for stouts that had just been judged at the State Fair. Only one brewery was bold enough to show up with a stout. And, as the Bible says, "It was good."
