The triptych chosen is loosely painted from a photo collage. There are four standing figures in front of a flower stall with blurred pedestrians.
Four universalized humans are made from public domain photographs. Each figure contains four parts symbolizing our two female and two male grandparents.
The pattern brings the composition together.
In the black areas of the pattern, colors of the collage are reversed to flatten the image space.
The cycle of paintings I call DEMOGRAPHICS contemplate our position within the life of Earth. We are products of genetic inheritance and quantum interactions reaching back to the beginning of time. We are interdependent and formed by the cultures that engage us. We are in rural and urban environments, we are like and unlike everyone.
My paintings are expressed in gesture and color, suggesting and representing our participation in the dance of universal life. They are secular prayers for Truth, Justice, and Understanding.
