THE STEADY STATE ENDORSES TED LIEU FOR CALIFORNIA 36TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT
WASHINGTON — The Steady State, an organization of more than 420 former national security, intelligence, diplomatic, military, law enforcement, and homeland security officials, today endorsed Ted Lieu for California 36th congressional district.
Ted Lieu represents California’s Thirty-Sixth Congressional District and is currently serving his sixth term in the U.S. House of Representatives. He served in the California State Assembly and State Senate before being elected to Congress in 2014, and is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a Colonel after service on active duty and in the Reserves. In Congress, Lieu has built a strong foreign policy and national security profile through his service on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, his military background, and his work on cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, civil liberties, oversight, and the rule of law.
Ted Lieu demonstrates a consistent commitment to the rule of law, supports nonpartisan oversight and accountability of the Executive Branch, and exhibits a substantive understanding of the national security challenges facing the country that the organization’s criteria require.
“Our members spent careers protecting this country, and we recognize that same seriousness in Ted Lieu’s approach to national security,” said Steven Cash, Executive Director of The Steady State.
