As NewsNation’s Rich McHugh reported, chemical engineer and certified industrial hygienist Stephen Petty, who was hired by the attorneys representing East Palestine residents, had his own testing data buried for years by the attorneys who were supposed to be serving the residents.

Those attorneys quickly reached a $600 million settlement with Norfolk Southern—nearly $200 million of which went to them.

Now, Petty’s results have FINALLY been released—showing that, as Status Coup has reported for years ON-THE-GROUND in East Palestine, the town and parts of western Pennsylvania are heavily contaminated resulting in the spread of cancer and a long list of serious health issues for residents.

“Somewhere between 50% and 70% of the data points, whether they be for dioxins or PAHs, exceeded screening levels” for cancer, Petty told NewsNation.

The soil in East Palestine is engulfed with carcinogens “above screening levels”, Petty said, meaning “you can’t walk away from it.”

But that is EXACTLY what the EPA and federal government has done—under both President Biden and Trump. Both presidents’ EPA’s helped Norfolk Southern cover up the true nature of this public health crisis—and widespread chemical contamination—pushing cherry-picked and manipulated environmental testing to declare the town and region’s air, soil, and water were safe.

Three-and-a-half years later, cancer is spreading along with other serious health issues. Here are just some of them:
