This week, we’re excited to release season 3 of State of Disaster.
This season is called “Emergent States”.
Throughout this season, we’re looking at Emergence: The concept behind how order can rise from chaos without the hierarchical support structure that we’ve classically relied on. We’re exploring Emergent States: The new tools, skills, people, partners, and models that self-organize to solve the unsolvable.
This season is starting with a celebration of Brandi Hunter and five years of Aspiring Emergency Managers Online (AEMO). This is intentional and important. So many of the brightest thinkers in the field right now have benefit from the mostly thankless and non-profit work of Brandi and AEMO. It is impossible to talk about emergence today without giving credit where it’s due for the investments made yesterday.
